- Richard Thomson, exhibition curator and Watson Gordon Professor of Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh, introduces 'The Credit Suisse Exhibition: Monet & Architecture'.
The Credit Suisse Exhibition: Monet & Architecture
9 April - 29 July 2018
Sainsbury Wing
There's never been a single exhibition looking at Monet's career through the buildings he painted: in Normandy, in Rouen, in Paris, London, and Venice. From buildings in villages and by the coast, to some of Europe's most famous monuments, Monet painted the architecture of his time - modern, historic, simple and grand. This is a new way of looking at Monet's work. It shows how he used architecture to create his compositions, both in his most famous paintings and lesser-known works.

Visited it today and was in total awe of it. I highly recommend visiting it, while you still can. Went to see the Picasso in Tate Modern and was left with a bitter taste afterwards, but this was something special. Went through it twice and go could again tomorrow.
Typical English male curator, trying to make himself more important in some way, than than the artist.
