Our boat has 4x Raymarine Axiom Pro 12 VRX screens and we often use the Dock-to-Dock option. a problem we encounter is that you have to manually say “yes” at each pivot point by clicking on the screen or the autopilot. on our previous boat we had Garmin chartplotters that could also auto route but they gave a few beeps at the pivot point and then continued again. we would very much like to have this as an option because especially on routes with many curves it is very annoying to have to click every time.
Hi Willy. I am guessing by your question you are using your Axioms along with your autopilot system. Presently, our autopilots do require you to acknowledge every waypoint change. This is a safety consideration as we want to be sure someone is aware that a course change is going to happen in the event there is another boat nearby. We don't want you changing course and crossing someone else's path without any notice. We are very open to customer feedback on this though. Also, you can cut down the amount of beeping a bit if you like by turning off the waypoint arrival alarm on Axiom. From the homescreen touch the Alarms button. Scroll down and you'll see the Waypoint Arrival Alarm Controls. You can switch it off there. Then, only the pilot will beep on arrival if its in use.

Hi, I am based in the UK. Great and informative video - Thanks. Question - Is it possible to run Raymarine Lighthouse Charts by copying all files onto the Axiom+ and then remove the card to allow a different chart manufactuers card to be installed. OR, does the Axiom need the original Lighthouse SD card to be installed to run?
Hello Mark. Using the RayConnect app it is possible to load LightHouse charts to the internal memory on your Axiom. The RayConnect app is available for both Apple and Android smartphones in their app stores. In this scenario you'd essentially purchase a chart voucher code and enter it into the Chart Store portion of the app. The app will ask you to scan a LightHouse ID QR code on your Axiom MFD screen to link the chart to that MFD. Next you'll download the data to your Smartphone or Tablet, then finally transfer it from that device to Axiom over Wi-Fi. The process works, but can take some because of the need to download first to the app, and then transfer over to Axiom. Once you do this you would have an empty card slot for a different chart. Another way to get there would be to add the RCR-1 external card reader accessory to your Axiom. Its part number is A80585. It connects to the microUSB accessory port on the back of Axiom and it can be flush mounted or surface mounted somewhere nearby. Axiom can read from its rear card reader and the RCR-1 simultaneously. Plug your primary card into one slot, and the other card into the RCR.
I just purchased an Axiom 9+. Do I get a voucher to upgrade to these new charts, or do I need to purchase at full retail? (The charts currently installed stock in my unit are very vague in detail). Thanks!
Hi Ryan. We sell Axiom units bundled with charts, or without. It sounds like you may have purchased a system that did not include charts. They would have been included in the box on a microSD card that gets plugged into the back. The "built-in" chart is just a basemap with basic coastal detail, but its not really suitable for navigation. You have a bunch of different options for charts that work with your system. Hello Samuel. You can update your Axiom system either via Wi-Fi or from a card you have pre-downloaded. You will need to remove your map card temporarily if you are doing the upgrade from a card. When you plug the card in you should get a popup message about software being detected and then it will take you through the update process. If you are not seeing that popup here are a few things to check or try. First, do make sure the software file you downloaded is sitting in the root directory of the card (not in a folder of any kind) and it is not zipped up. You do need to unzip the file first or decompress them on the card. Occasionally I have seen an Axiom not read a freshly inserted card with software. Try power-cycling it and try again. It should read and perform the update.

Hi Russ. That's definitely not supposed to happen. As a first step I would recommend backing up your waypoints, routes and settings (Home...My Data...Import/Export.....Save My Data (Save All), then Save Settings. Once you have done that perform a Factory reset on the master unit. This will flush its memory and make sure it's running a clean copy of the Lighthouse 3 OS. You can then restore your settings and data from the same import/export menu on the homescreen.
Guys. Did the factory reset as advised and still have the issue with the master MFD restarting randomly. There is definitely a bug in this update. I'm not the only boat at my marina having an issue after doing this update. Thinking about reloading the previous software. You need to get this figured out.

Hi VS. Yes, sir the chart does include the letter descriptors for bottom type. The RayConnect app should be appearing online in the app stores later this summer. Our team is doing some more fine-tuning on it. Screen mirroring and remote control is part of our plan for it. The charts themselves are available now. Raymarine dealers can get them for you, or you can order online from Raymarine.com.
Hi Craig. Axiom supports all 3 different varieties of microSD cards in a range of capacities: -MicroSDSC (Standard Capacity) can be up to 4GB -MicroSDHC (High Capacity) can be from 4GB to 32GB -MicroSDXC (Extended Capacity) can be from 32GB to 2TB. Any of these will work in Axiom. The MFD can support them for basic storage of data in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT format. MicroSD cards of any variety that are going to be used to store LightHouse charts shuld be formatted in exFAT format before chart data is added to them. If you are buying a card to use with your system we recommend choosing a Class 10 or UHS (Ultra High Speed) class card or better. We also strongly suggest choosing a known, name-brand card rather than a generic card.

Guys. Did the factory reset as advised and still have the issue with the master MFD restarting randomly. There is definitely a bug in this update. I'm not the only boat at my marina having an issue after doing this update. Thinking about reloading the previous software. You need to get this figured out.
Do you plan on any Raymarine Live shows with Law Enforcement in mind?
We could certainly add one to our calendar. There are many different agencies using Raymarine electronics for their official duties, and we have some pretty cool features we have custom-developed for them. Let me see what we can put together.
Can you change the GPS format from Degrees, Minutes to decimal degrees?
The GPS format is fixed on our system. It reads out in Degrees, Minutes and decimal minutes.
can you change the depyh contours from meteres to fathoms
Yes. On your Axiom go to Home...Settings...Units....Depths. You can set contours and spot sounding to be reflected in Feet, Fathoms or meters.
@@RaymarineInc been on there but see no options to change the meters to fathoms
thanks got it sorted
Hi Jim is there a music play MP3 file app for Axiom? I have a WiFi speaker I wish to connect. Cheers Chris
Hi Chris. Axiom doesn't have a generic MP3 Player, but it does have the Spotify app on it if you have mobile internet access. You'll find it in the Apps menu on the home screen. I do like the idea of a media player though. I will make the suggestion to our team for consideration in a future release.
@@RaymarineInc Hi Jim, thank you for your reply. Yes I see the Spotify app but as we all know internet access is required. I know a MP3 player would be a welcome addition to the multi-function Axiom. Cheers Chris
is there any way to have the dark mode automatically come on at sunset
Hi Chris. Currently, no. The daytime/nighttime color palettes do need to be manually enabled.
Jim,
Great video. Will the new LH Charts have M & S on the ocean chart like the "old" Raymarine Chart. I believe the Meaning is Sand/Shale & Mud.
Also, when will the Rayconnect App be available & charting for the North East U.S.; NJ Area. Will it be able to screen share and control the Axiom from a smartphone or tablet?
Thanks & great info.!!
What is the maximum sd card size you can put in a Axiom mfd?
Hi Craig. Axiom supports all 3 different varieties of microSD cards in a range of capacities:
-MicroSDSC (Standard Capacity) can be up to 4GB
-MicroSDHC (High Capacity) can be from 4GB to 32GB
-MicroSDXC (Extended Capacity) can be from 32GB to 2TB.
