    Tip, heat it up on medium to begin with. After a couple of minutes, put a tiny amount of water, and if the water does dance around the pan (leidenfrost effect), then turn the stove to low heat. Then, put your avocado oil or whatever oil you use. Then a tiny amount of butter to truly create a frictionless surface. If you dont turn the heat to low, the egg will have a higher chance of burning and will most likely look burned.

      Great question. If you add the oil first, you risk burning the oil before the entire pan is hot. It's best to gently heat the pan, then add oil to swirl. It will minimize sticking. Adding the water is optional once you're more used to using stainless steel cookware.

    • @scrubsjl
      @scrubsjl Před 5 měsíci

      @@CptApplestrudl I guess it’s because the “Pores” of the stainless steel have already closed and sealed by that tim (which gives it the “Non Stick” properties)
      It’s just so the oil cools down a bit more and isn’t hot as if you were frying chicken, while the surface of the pan remains hot enough to non stick. Once the steel is hot it is way easier to retain the heat then starting with a cold pan…I hope that somehow makes sense…
      However I’d always recommend using a touch of oil when cooking eggs in stainless cookware, since you can never really get it to “Not stick” a 100% without any oil at all IMO.

    Why do i see smoke from the pan when i only put it on medium heat and the oil just came on?

    • @ZWILLINGUSA

      This means your pan is too hot. Remove the pan from the heat for a few seconds before adding your oil.

      Hi there, this sounds like rainbow staining, which is completely harmless, and actually reversible! These stains can occur when you use high heats. Simply scrub your pan with some vinegar and water, and the stains will go away. ❤️

      No don't scrub it with steelwool ever! Use barkeeps friend it's cheap and easy and works great. Also you can soak it with hot water and a little baking soda will takeoff any stuck on stains as well. I've had my pots and pans 14 years still in great shape

      Put yours in with a thin layer of water and cover with a lid. Steam will help your egg from not burning.

      This isn't seasoning, just teaching how to know when a stainless steel pan is hot enough to cook with. Heating it this way, doing the water test and adding oil only after it's hot, will help minimize sticking in a stainless steel pan.
