I was just commenting about this on Facebook...there was a ton of criticism for the Dixie Chicks recent performance and I mentioned how stirring Kathie Lee's version was.

I heard her rendition at least 100+ times back in 95 for the California State Bowling Tournament hosted Fresno. I was a teen and monitored the tournament nearly every squad for four months straight. This was playing on 40 screens each and every squad. LOL. I still remember each head-bob.

I'm a huge fan of hers as are many. It sounded like people were booing her when she was introduced, maybe I just heard wrong. Amazing job Kathie.

But now they all alter it, drag it out, and slow it down. I hate that with a passion. I can't remember the last SB Anthem that got me excited for the game.

I was on USS Constellation CV64 (1977-1981), we did our 6 month tour all loaded up to go back the USA, we were done with our Duty. Then what happened, unload ship with stuff bringing back and reload all the stuff we just unloaded. Constellation was the first USN Ship to go to the Indian Ocean for DECADES and in Jan 1979 we only had a Tanker, Cruiser and Destroyer, (LOOK IT UP) to deal with IRAN, nothing close to a task force. Then we had 3 MODLOCs (modified locations). Our relief USS Ranger CV61 gets in a collision, then something else went wrong and something else went wrong. Then you have BOZOs like the NFL that hate the USA, kneel on the anthem, etc. Why do I not watch the NFL, because they DO NOT CARE ABOUT OUR UNITED STATES (US). They do not care about US. Stop the NFL and anyone who hates US.

I listened to this out of curiosity. I don't like Kathie Lee Gifford at all because she's a gospel singer. I don't like gospel. But this was surprisingly good. I don't think I've ever heard her singing that much because most of her music is basically God and blah blah blah muh Jesus. But this has gotta be one of the best renditions of the national anthem I've ever heard. Her voice is beautiful.
