  • 3 Turn Tutorial!!
There are many 3 Turn variations, but today I’ll be teaching you the very basics of a 3 Turn. A 3 Turn is a turn going from forwards to backwards, from an outside edge to an inside edge. Stay tuned for part 2 of this tutorial, the Double Three Turn !

Thanks. Love your videos. Not all that many people on roller skates teaching the “figure skate” type stuff. I appreciate it!

I started skating with an artistic coach last year, and progress is slow. You give me ideas of what to practice on my own and where what I’m currently learning may take me. Thank you!

this tutorial is so helpful! although ive learnt the turn, im still struggling with the outside forward 3 turn exit, are there any skills that can help me learn how to "exit" the turn backward on an inside edge? hope this made sense- thanks!

Yes! are you referring to not being able to hit your check position on a flat? (no edge) if so, a good practice drill is to hold your check position, no rotation or anything, just rolling backwards, while making sure that all muscles are engaged and that your big toe is pointed directly towards the floor with the free leg. this will help you control any unwanted edging that sounds like is happening. additionally make sure that your shoulders are square and that youre looking at the wall directly in front of you when you clear out to your check position to help stop your rotation ♥️🔥✨ I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions, always happy to help
