    Almighty, eternal God,
you have given your people St. Anthony

This was excellent. It's the first time I've ever heard a vlogger or youtuber or anyone speaking to the public, express this. We can easily forget that the most profound things and many of the most ordinary things may not be able to be shown, seen, or experienced on or by a video.

For me now I can say by not showing the things you cannot show, yet with the explanation and great choice of background music was the best way of showing me what cannot be shown. Maybe the fact that I was on the "inside" once and want to get back was making it easier as I lived, learned and understood those things. Keep on making the videos as they are as always great.

It is wonderful to hear about someone (not a friar or nun) who is becoming a part of the Franciscan family and remaining a member of the laity (single or married people in the world). God bless you on this journey of faith, living out your baptism in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

As part of my Franciscan formation, I meet with my Novice Guardian, and spend time reflecting on my latest essay or on stuff that has happened. How would you feel, thinking about sharing some of your feelings and reflections on some of those powerful issues that people present you with. Not from their perspective or about them, but your thoughts on how that may be changing you and how the Lord is working in you. It is a joy to see you grow in your ministry through this channel.. Just some thoughts to get others to maybe form devotion who are away from the church or aren't even Catholic. I believe it would be a valuable snippet of your life similar to a vocational promo, which gives a complete representation of your life as a brother. it's true. some of the best experience just can be experienced by living as the clergy. I miss living like that again, to be close to God in a particular way not meant that a clergical life is more or less than non clergy, but it's a way worth travelling and worth living. I joined seminary 5 years ago, later God decide that perhaps better for me to have outside experience as well through university. Still I miss becoming a religious. To live for a cause that can only be understand by living it to the fullest, till the end, for God.

Please bring Fr Tuttle back. He's your inspiration and teacher. Help us learn from his joyful eyes. Help us learn YOUR inspiration. Coming from a young guy may help us understand what are the upcoming changes in the faith and the church especially in the current dark time. Please.

Hello Thank you very much for your enthusiasm and explaining of the Catholic faith . I represent my Anglican Church in ourChurches together group locally. We work together , doing lent courses, worshiping and studying . If there are chasms to heal between us, we are trying here in the North of England. What more would you suggest we do . I think it’s moving Some of us take part fully in both communions which from your talk you wouldn’t agree with. It’s horrible not being able to fully partake. Thanks again

"Joy, which was the small publicity of the pagan, is the gigantic secret of the Christian. And as I close this chaotic volume I open again the strange small book from which all Christianity came; and I am again haunted by a kind of confirmation. The tremendous figure which fills the Gospels towers in this respect, as in every other, above all the thinkers who ever thought themselves tall. His pathos was natural, almost casual. The Stoics, ancient and modern, were proud of concealing their tears. He never concealed His tears; He showed them plainly on His open face at any daily sight, such as the far sight of His native city.
    Yet He concealed something.
Solemn supermen and imperial diplomatists are proud of restraining their anger. He never restrained His anger. He flung furniture down the front steps of the Temple, and asked men how they expected to escape the damnation of Hell.
    Yet He restrained something.
I say it with reverence; there was in that shattering personality a thread that must be called shyness. There was something that He hid from all men when He went up a mountain to pray. There was something that He covered constantly by abrupt silence or impetuous isolation. There was some one thing that was too great for God to show us when He walked upon our earth; and I have sometimes fancied that it was His mirth."
    G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy, 1908

So film a dark night of the soul episode and balance it out once in a while. I prob wouldn't be alone in finding encouragement in some gut punching battles with acedia and despair. Beats the hell out of "lolling about in an emotionally satisfying faith."

Hmmm looks like the datachment of the dark night has an interesting effect in you its nice isnt it? The joy found in suffering is knowing that you are united to your beloved closer then ever the greatest glory of all of the mounts Jesus was on it wasnt the Mount with Elijah and Moses and Jesus transfigured, it wasn't the mount of olives either where an angel consoled him but Golgotha where the greatest of colsolation was given and this actually should be emotionally charging because you know your cross is teeny tiny compared to the one our Master endured out of love for us. In song of songs 3 the soul exclaims 1Bride: On my bed, throughout the night, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, and did not find him.
But then when in this unity of suffering the one you sought in sorrow is found and kept in your heart more heated in suffering because you know the gaze is their more deeply then anything and theres nothing else that matters to you. The flowery bosom is ignited because it suffers with our Lord in abandonment and pain its an honor to share every sting cuz its small. Thanks for sharing your comment lol i love the dark night as well i ponder it often as well the song of songs i might be wrong on the interpretation but its interesting what your willing to go thru for love

I am glad you had this conversation with us. Great topic, and it's important.
I have been watching your videos for only 2 weeks, and have gained a lot of knowledge about your life. I am Episcopalian. I grew up in Seattle, my family was not religious for most part. Fairly typical of people from this region. I was drawn to images of the Catholic Church, as a child. At the age of 26, or around that time I decided the Episcopal Church was a good fit. I am out, proud man, who was searching for acceptance from my Church.
I am curious how do you pay for traveling, and housing, and your overall lifestyle? You mention you took a vow of poverty. I am somewhat attracted to the idea of that life. It also scares me at the sametime. I am fine with no being in a romantic relationship. I have not been in a serious relationship for years. I was raised by mother, who divorced when I was baby. Sorry ffg or the long post. I have been attracted to the idea of religious order for long time. Slightly fearful, but mostly thats about meeting basic needs. I have done discernment with a group from my church in past. That was amazing experience, and very helpful. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I am learning a lot, and will continue to watch. I am 50, and thinking I am late to the table.

When I wasn't out riding on a fire rig I was working as volunteer as a maintenance / janitor at local church and on Saturdays morns when I was off myself and Father Pastor would go and get donuts and come back to the church basement and steal the ladies guild chocolate milk from funerals or what ever and sit and talk and laugh and eat .. and I would always tease father about giving a rerun homily at his 5 o'clocker that day. I sure miss those times RIP my friend...

Slightly similar to what many of us do everyday on social media. We go to interesting places and post the best of our pics etc. and then await the feedback. The thing is, quite often, there are other images we could post from these areas, like broken wine bottles, beer cans, rubbish strewn about, drunks and addicts wandering the backstreets etc. The nice pics only tell half the story.
