- You could easily call the Festival of Slowth the Festival of the Bizarre. An event for slow, or underpowered, or underengineered, strange, bizarre, but unanimously utterly interesting machines. Organised by the great Vintage Revival Monthléry team, it was an amazing weekend on quiet roads around Nevers, France. To name some of the participating contraptions: Leyat Helica, Villard, Mochet, Salomon, Monotrace threewheeler, Grafton, Withworth, Cyclauto Anzani, Deguingand Violet, Rusty Nail Briggs and Stratton, Mathis, Britannia, Benjamin, Rollo, GN, Bramble, Mills Busy Bee, Morgan, AC Sociable, Hanomag, Sima Violet, Lättviktsbilen Ideal, MV Bambina, De Marçay, Condor, Monet et Goyon, Socovel electric motorcycle, ... and of course Bédélia, but I'm probably forgetting a few... Impossible to forget is the amazing 1896 Salvesen steamer from Duncan Pittaway.
I could feel the heat when Duncan opened the firebox door to that contraption!! I was so surprised to see the Tennessee license plate on the airplane/car thing. Thank you so much for taking the time to film everything. I hope I will be able to make it to one of the next ones and take my project car to drive on those beautiful English Country Roads.
i keep coming back and watching this again and again
Fabulous! The epitome of the spirit of vintage motoring. Fun, crazy, exhilirating! I wish I had been there!
Génial ! Des pièces de musée rares...sur route ! J'adore. Et le clin d'oeil rigolo avec des équipes sympa ! Chapeau !
Thank you for this nice footage, it was a great event!

What a fabulous film and thank you so much for sharing . My cheeks are aching from smiling so much ! How and where do we get to join in with this ?
Mark Walker’s Belt drive is my favourite
Wonderful!
I would love to see this up close, what a fantastic event.
What an incredible array! Thanks so much
Isn't it what motoring is all about ? Thanks for such another demonstration. By the way, this well hidden Hanomag 2/10 Rennwagen is a real sensation !
Stunning , thankyou
It is so nice to see such an event without BMW-wankers. Thanks for this Video!
If this happens in 2024, count me in. We would drive there in my 1948 Land Rover sans top!
New subscriber!! Super cool video!! I have been assembling a machine shop to support my CZcams channel that I will be starting with the build of a 1928 Morgan RIP GN special 3 wheeler with 4 wheels. I am using an experimental aircraft opposed twin supercharged engine. This will be mated to an MG 4 speed manual gearbox with a 2 piece hand cast aluminum adapter. This will be connected to an MG differential with beautiful wire wheels. The frame I stood over steel and will have aircraft cloth stretched over and sprayed with plasticizer. This will have a boat tail look and is essentially a 20's airplane without a propeller or wings. There is only one other in existence and Charlie Martin races it in the UK. The next project lined up is the building of a Brooklands style cycle car similar to the Pembleton. This will have a BMW R-100 engine in the front and four wheels with gorgeous leather interior and even space for luggage. I look forward to seeing everyone over at the channel when it gets warm out enough to be in the barn in Pennsylvania .....
For some peculiar reason, I keep expecting Terry Thomas to appear in the video & shout, "COURTNEY!
Can anyone please explain why?
My goodness, these environmental machines need to be banned
