Living where I do, about 3000 miles away, I still have learnt plenty from watching Des Shipp videos. My local pond/river (weird venue-it is connected to a big river that has a lock that goes into the sea) is full of wild carp, they can be hard to catch and fight like hell. Another place I fish is another river where I use bread punch trotted under a dibber. Further upstream its 10g flat floats, braid and red hydro as the river is filled with fallen trees. Very different but strangely the same. Thanks Des.
Just had an inception 3D150 shipped to me, I love it. There isn't a flat bank anywhere where I fish, have wade out every time. Way easier now

That sounds like an interesting mix of venues! Certainly different to the modern commercials of the UK

Denrobeana worms are the most commonly used, however Lob worms can also be effective.

Des is my favourite angler and I enjoy his videos but you are right about the tea towels, the bloke who runs this place is oficias, arrogant and aggressive. If you are in the area then there are much better places to fish, Larford, Willow Marsh for example, where the reception and the attitude is far superior.
