Sen. Bernie Sanders held nothing back in his Senate speech demanding COVID-19 relief and stimulus checks during ‘an unprecedented crisis and economic meltdown’ that's affecting tens of millions of Americans.
Sen. Sanders questioned Democrats and Republicans for not cooperating, saying, ‘If we could do it in March, it was the right thing then. Now at a time when the situation in many ways is even worse, we can and must do it today.’

Couldn't agree with you more. He really is a wonderful human being that genuinely cares for his fellow human beings - it was an honor volunteering on his campaign!
Absolutely. The only reason he isn't president is because his views don't align with traditional democrat centrist views. He didn't act the exact way that the DNC want him to act. Plus he's anti-establishment, meaning he is against the DNC members getting the insane amount of money from corporate donors. Everything they do is to appease their donors, and Bernie is a danger to their donor checks, so they started actively working against him. And since the DNC have money in most main stream news networks, they basically influenced them to talk negatively about Bernie on tv to influence the general public to think all his ideas were crazy and impossible, when in reality all of his ideas like monthly stimulus checks and government run healthcare are already been done by tons of other countries. I'd hardly call that impossible. Unfortunately, Bernie will most likely not be able to run for president again, but the ray of hope is that he has already influenced many new progressives to come up to the plate and fight for the common sense rights that we deserve. He's influenced an entire new generation of young politicians that I think will one day change things for the better.

Edit: this is not saying I oppose covid relief. I think it’s necessary! But at the same time I think it needs to be better targeted to certain income based families/individual. The stimulus check of what 1200 I think got sent out? 70% of the people who received this check used it to increase their savings/debt reduction. And 20% of people used it to purchase essential goods. Remaining 10% split on non essential goods and donated to charity. Need to target the people in that 20%. Imo. I received one, and used it for debt reductionj (student loans, car payment).
Bernie is a career politician and has been so for a very long time . That’s it . He’s about as special as the dollar menu at McDonald’s .

The President We deserve
Not everyone wanted him, same with all the other democratic candidates. Bernie Sanders had the popular vote among the very liberal and populated states, Joe Biden had the popular vote among african Americans and swing states. In this case you never know how it can turn out, but we know as of now that Joe Biden is the new President elect of the United States.

He is great but most likely couldn’t win. Joe could beat Trump and was our best bet, and he did win. Now that Joe has won he is paving the way for the possibility of Bernie being president, for Kamala being president, and more.
He was defeated by corporate democrats and the military machine. We ended up voting for Biden only because he wasn’t as horrible as Trump. At least Biden seems to believe in science and feels some urgency towards the climate crisis. Bernie is who we absolutely needed in this moment. We lost out on that chance but we must fight on.

@Dillon McCluskey There's way more to electing someone than basing it on taxes. Sanders might have raised taxes, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. Multiple studies have concluded that single payer would save the public millions. To top it off, it's supported by the majority of physicians AND the general public. The rest of the modern world has already run the laboratory tests for us, it's time for us to ensure our citizens the rights to good health they deserve. Trump even promised he'd give it to us! Where is it! Trump ran on draining the swamp, when in reality he represented everything the swamp meant. This is just one issue where Sanders has the best interests of the American people at heart, others include rising higher education costs, prison reform, wages, housing costs, environmental protection, the list goes on! But no, taxes...

@Johnny Irenchi While I'm fully convinced on the politics of Sanders, many are not. I doubt Sanders would have won on the democratic ticket. He would have been an easier target for Trump's rhetoric.
Biden was a candidate, who was believed to have a better chance of beating Tantrum Trump (which current results have confirmed), since Biden supposedly is more centric and seeks to find solutions which agrees with both sides of the aisle. Biden's politics probably has won over some of the Republicans, who are fed up with Trump.
Sadly, what worked during the Obama admin might not cut it the next 4 years. The Republicans and a sizeable chunk of their base are IMO to foregone to nationalism, greed and right wing politics. If any common sense politics are to be implemented, the Dems will be needing to gain that slim majority in the Senate to get anything done.

The President is just one position and can do very little on his own. Bernie is good at moving the conversation, but he’s proven through decades in the Senate that he’s not as strong at building coalitions. We need good people like Bernie throughout the government, pushing pushing pushing for the people! And we need a lot more in every body. The Executive is just one branch. The right changes that Bernie is talking about are needed. The changes coming are to correct for Trump’s ineptitude (there’s a new word for him to look up). But we need to continue to stop corporate stuffing to reinvigorate jobs investment so working people, wage earners, crafts persons, click punchers can actually see their incomes double to scale of what incomes were for people in ‘67, to start. And this faux debate over healthcare needs to be called out and ended. All Americans should have the best healthcare in the world at their fingertips. Insurance executives bask in luxury while their cheap and garbled policies put working people in crushing and disempowering debt.
Stop believing Republican lies and learn how your high school economics teacher teaches about money. Mitch McConnell knows that he will be rich because he protected himself, his wife, and her family through sweetheart deals and lies about government money. He must not only be gone, he must be made poor along with his wife the current secretary of transportation. We would be prosperous, our environment would not be destroyed, we would all have healthcare, we would be a world leader in responsibility. Nobody in this country has would be hungry or destitute and we would be better, caring people. Our crimes against other countries would end and we would help other countries in need.

He can't just waive his magic hammer & sickle and make all those amazing populist policies magically appear. He would still need bipartisan support for the agenda to even have a chance in Congress. He's a great guy, but our political system specializes in squashing fringe politicians like him, so just by virtue of its existence our political system is inherently opposed to guys like Bernie. The system has to change before we even have a chance of radicalizing the voters to such a degree that they vote in like-minded representatives to pass this legislation. We have thus far failed to meaningfully change the system, therefore we don't deserve a Bernie Sanders yet. He's too good for this shithole country.

Yes, truth, anyone that has gotten food from a food pantry knows it's a death wish to diabetics. Not enough protein and too much processed and macaroni products. If your lucky you can get protein, fruit and eggs. I'm grateful for what I can get and give away what I can't eat. It leaves me with something at least.

The people in Kentucky shouldn't be included in the relief pack obviously they are doing well they voted McConnell back into the Senate seat.
But still there are many in Kentucky that voted against his party . They all need the help that this country can give them . They have children , they have bills , and medical needs .
