🌍 Building Climate Resilience in Zambia: Philda's Story 🌿

As climate change intensifies, communities in Zambia face increasing challenges from droughts, impacting health and livelihoods. With 9.8 million people across 84 districts impacted, and 6.6 million in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, the situation is dire.
Now more than ever, our community health workers are on the front lines, providing vital support and education to mitigate these effects. They're ensuring families have access to clean water, nutrition, and essential healthcare.
Philda, a dedicated community health worker, is on the front lines combating climate-related health crises like diarrhea, cholera, and malnutrition. Drying water sources and decreasing groundwater availability threaten access to safe water, particularly endangering women and children who must trek longer distances for basic necessities.
Through Philda's resilience and leadership, we see hope. Take action by supporting initiatives that advocate for upskilling and professionalization of community health workers, and strengthening health systems. Together, we can empower health workers like Philda to create stronger, more climate-resilient communities in Zambia.
