  • Continuing my experiments with milk clarification, I decided to see if a vegan alternative to dairy milk would effectively clarify a cocktail. Turns out the answer is yes.

Perhaps these are ones for the blind taste comparison. Same drinks, different clarifying agents. See what the identifiable difference in flavour are etc.

Good idea. When I compared coconut milk vs dairy milk they certainly tasted different.

Thank you so much for this I was looking for a way to do this without introducing the coconut taste. and as far as I know, you are one of the first if not the first to pull it of with almond milk.
this not only curbs the problem with lactose-intolerant people but also makes it vegan, it's perfect.

Just remember to use almond milk that has sufficient fat content

@@AngryCocktails scoured the almond milk at my local supermarket yesterday and found one that had more than 3 % fat content. running a test right now With Benjamin Franklin's milk punch recipe and the milk doesn't curdle I even added half a squeeze of lemon more to see if that helps but nothing as of yet.
I will either heat it up or use coconut milk to try to get everything to curdle and report back.
(The almond milk BTW is organic and without any stabilizers, just water almonds and a pinch of salt)

I really like your milk clarification videos. Are nice and the color of the final drink is so cool!

Hi, do you use an almond milk with a higher percentage of almonds than the stuff you generally get in a carton? What brand are you using?

The fat content is what's important. That's what makes the reaction. Ideally you would want something with more than 3% fat. I literally just used some from the supermarket. If almond doesn't work for you another vegan alternative is coconut milk.
