That blend/fade on the side could use some more blending. I hate when barbers don’t blend enough

It would have looked ridiculous IMO, you increase the length and begin a scissor cut just below the top of the temples but it can differentiate on head shape

He should of blended the fade with the clippers and scissors after. If you notice, he only blended the line with those thinning shears. It needs to be a gradual fade, you shouldn't be able to notice a big difference between the scalp and the heavier top of the hair.
