I’m from there. What they did was wrong. He could’ve been taken in to custody on any of his many trips to the parts store. They did not have to go in “guns blazing” and slaughter all those people. I live in Waco now and visited the compound around 2015. The gates were open, no one was there so we drove in. We found the little chapel built after fire and went in. There was a donation box so we left some money. The pool was the only thing left of the compound, it was drained. There was a memorial for all those that died. The number of children was staggering. It is very quiet out there, some cows and the house that was used by the FBI, not much else.
Interesting. Who owns that property now? I've always wondered what would happen, it's a horrific tragedy and I can't imagine anything could be built there. 😔

I remember this when it happened. I felt sick for weeks knowing what happened to those poor children. They had no choice but to endure the violence and insanity of the adults involved. Still haunts me to this day.
You know that those children only died because the atf *knowingly* parked their armoured vehicle on top of the exit. I'm sure having that knowledge imparted on me so young, and it coming from that ONE family member left that I trusted absolutely not only changed, but saved, my life. I had a SEVERELY dysfunctional family growing up, and then my mom died when I was 13, both grandma's a few years later within months of eachother when I was 16. And I lived with just my moms dad then .... and then I moved out before my 17th bday. My whole point in that is out of everything that came from such an incredibly devastating childhood, still being given that single piece of advice still made all the difference in the world.

I live in Waco now and visited the compound around 2015. The gates were open, no one was there so we drove in. We found the little chapel built after fire and went in. There was a donation box so we left some money. The pool was the only thing left of the compound, it was drained. There was a memorial for all those that died. The number of children was staggering. It is very quiet out there, some cows and the house that was used by the FBI, not much else.
Interesting. Who owns that property now? I've always wondered what would happen, it's a horrific tragedy and I can't imagine anything could be built there. 😔

They knew that the the B.D’s didn’t have any gas masks for children, so the children would ALL be in the underground shelter with the women. And there was only one way they could escape from the underground shelter. The ATF parked over that KNOWN exit till the fires burnt themselves out. The atf was shooting at anyone trying to escape the fire. They wanted everyone dead. And they knew that if the women and children died it would destroy their public support. Have you ever looked at the famous pictures of the cops arriving? There’s a small blonde haired boy, that was David’s son, David and a few of the men opened up the doors to talk. It was the atf who shot his 5/6 year old baby boy, like any child he ran over to say hi. Not understanding who they were or what would happen. He was just feet in front of the atf. So not a misidentification. The government has lost every single case from Waco. It was an utterly disgusting overuse of force. They had agents in a building opposite watching everything they did. They even became friendly with them and went into the “compound” for bbqs movie nights, all kinds of things. They knew David went running alone and in small groups, so they could EASILY have arrested him. There’s some great programs about this but this isn’t anywhere near true. It’s been proven in court that there’s NO evidence that David Kersh ever abused any child. The ONLY people saying he did have made careers out of it and playing victim. The agent’s who spent months watching their every move have spoken out, the negotiators, agents. What the aft did was EVIL. I lived 3 miles from this when it happened. I remember watching it from afar with binoculars. It was CRAZY when the tanks came out and blew it up. Thats where those fires came from. The government handled this all wrong and alot of innocents died.
I had graduated from college in north central Texas, and I couldn’t believe what we were watching on TV; I recall the standoff and couldn’t wrap my head around it all. Too close to home.

Most of these cult leaders (like Jim Jones even) had abusive mothers, and what they neglected to mention is that even Koresh himself frequently cited an incident to his followers in which his mother beat him black and blue on his birthday. If his stepfather hadn’t viciously abused him, he probably wouldn’t have turned out this way. There’s also tons of conmen and cult leaders who grew up with a father like L Ron Hubbard, Yahweh ben Yahweh, David Berg, Keith Raniere, etc. A lack of warmth/empathy for the child breeds these types of people, that’s all.
