This version of optimus is my favorite because he only goes beast mode only when necessary, unlike bayverse optimus where hes super violent all the time

I've seen arguments that he only starts going savage after he's brought back from death in the second film. He realized he can't hold back anymore. The problem is I don't think that's what Bay intended.
It's implied he's never seen Scourge before so didn't know what Scourge was capable of, nor how to fight him. This time around he knows what to expect and can counter it more effectively.
I felt like the fight could have been longer and much more gritty the fight between optimus and Scourge was underwhelming in a way there was no lead up to the final killing blow but rhe movie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
