@@HunterzKar98 I've probably screwed something up with the scripts I wrote to automate stitching these videos together. I've fixed these by now and it shouldn't happen again with future videos.
The start mix was used in eJay Special Edition, a best of program combining 3 programs into one, including some of the best demo songs as far as I know
I've not managed yet to make any Eurdance Tunes on modern software that i'm happy with....but I think i now know what I need to do...90s software for 90s tunes!
I Cant believe it, this is where it all started for me at the age of 12-13 the love of music production. Ejay this should still exist even for kids to give them the start and feel of production.
Writing about this in my thesis. Still working with samples but got into making tape loops with reel to reel tape recorders and wow am I thankfull for getting my hands on Dance ejay!
Hows your project coming along? If you ever need loop/sound creators then drop me an email.. i work professionally creating loop sample pack in various genres. Have done for years for all the biggest brands.
Absolutely smashed Dance ejay 1 and 2 and Rave ejay ( I remember being so excited when that came out). I wonder if the developers of this are aware of how many people they inspired with this software. I still produce music to this day. Thanks for the memories 🙏
Jesus H Tapdancing Christ, this brings back memories. I played around with this program so much as a kid, when it was included as a full version freebie in one of the PC magazines at the time.
Childhood memories.... I spent hours on annoying my parents by mixing that same bunch of samples over and over again. I had no idea what I actually did. I just cobbled these shiny blocks together. The result was always listenable because the program didn't allow you to do anything that would sound awful. Using the recording function to create custom samples wasn't a real thing because it always sounded rotten between the flawless prerecorded stock samples. But for such a toy sampler, it still has pretty decent quality and it was just soooo much fun because it was so simple to use - even if all songs sounded the same xD. I still have the song files I made with it :).
Shout out to anyone who used to hang around the old eJay forums back in the early noughties. Joosman, Pinky, Scott Jones, Ffabbia, Dreamer, Slippy T. Keir Bates, Mr Mystery, Xanthe, Youth, Mikey4, Tedz, Insane Jane, Nev, Conkuss (RIP), Darkwolf, Grahawk, Strife, S'kiri, Saint, Spyda, Darla Discs and many more who I've forgotten.
@@musicsoftarchive4328 My pleasure. I'd love to get back in touch with some of those people, and wish I could remember the names of others I was friends with. I know that Ffabbia (aka The Delivery System) and Slippy-T are still going strong, putting out some amazing music, though they're moved past eJay, and I think Xanthe is still active, but not certain about the others.
Nostaljia :) I played a lot with this and even made a mix for my schoolparty. The only problem was that my PC had not so much memory to play the music smoothly. So I had to shut down all the programms in the background before recording the mix on tape.
Thank You! I had this software and used it a lot. However, I must claim that you missed using: "Dolphins in ocean water" which was a "voice" that I really liked.
While I’m on memory lane… does anyone remember another early software (likely before ejay) that was on windows that had 2 turntables with buttons around them and you push the buttons and lock them on to make a full track. It was shite in comparison to eJay but man I’d love to see it again to satisfy my nostalgic mind 🙂
I do think that in a far corner of my mind, that this is something that I remember, but it is a very vague memory. I tried out a lot of very simple music making programs back then, I even tried out a program based on the long gone soda named urge, as I recall the program was called surge, but I can’t find anything about it on the modern World Wide Web of today.

As a software developer, I've been planning something quite similar to ejay. But with more tools. I wont say much at this time.

Holy crap, that takes me back. Now I'm going to search for MTV Music Generator, my other favourite from that era.
