  • G'day Folks. This week I've gone along to a planned burn area to see what the reduction in undergrowth reveals with the Minelab Manticore and the M8 (Mate) coil. The key to my heart maybe?

    Thanks for hunting out my CZcams channel.
    My name is Andrew, so why do they call me The Coffee Bush Kid? I may have found the odd gold coin or two in the middle of the coffee bush where others fear to tread.

    Rummaging about after a prescribed burn-off, for a better look-see, sometimes reveals unknown and unmarked workings, you never know. Unwashed mullocks or abandoned dwellings, often wondered if some remain that weren't returned to, ones after catastrophic bushfires that had affected especially central Victoria.
    Had dim recall of it may have been John Tully on some segment of a show on the Seven Network about abandoned goldfields settlements, modern detector waving about the tall grasses, for the camera, some wonder the snakes hadn't leapt out, hugging his neck in fear, although the point I conveyed to Lee Savage was Tully's observation of finding good-sized gold nuggets where the old-timers didn't try to look - under seemingly lucky moss matting. Not casting nasturtiums on the lucky being from a certain emerald isle, although you'd find a good'un and call it "Tullymore Dewdrop"?! Happy trails to you, and lucky mossy rocks hiding maybe lost tins of sovs, UK silvers, Chinese chopmarked ones, high denomination, and mint-state cash-coins, and many nuggets and much gold powder. Mind your step, Mr Coffee Bush Kid! Scare off the snakes guarding the lost encampment with your Goldfinder 15,000! No! Manticore reptile repellent! Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.

      Gday Gabi. It is always worth while going out after a burn. It was like Burke st out there. Always good to go for a wander. You see dump sites with glass shining, digging and dwelling sites and potential areas to swing. The clothes take a bit of a hammering with all the black whip marks on them.
      Thanks for watching and the wishes of good luck. Most of the time you just have to get out and cover land and swing. Take care mate 😁👍

    Hi Andrew, you managed to find a good assortment of relics 😄 the Advance Australia button was very cool, some of those relics have probably seen a fair number of fires scorch the ground above them since the time they were lost, whenever I find a rubbish dump I always think of you now, have to look around and make you you don’t come charging out of the bushes to strike your claim on the ground 😂😂

    • @TheCoffeeBushKid
      @TheCoffeeBushKid  Před 3 měsíci

      Gday William. Yes you are probably right about fires over the top of everything multiple times and yet stuff can come out in good condition.
      Do love your image of me and claiming 🤣🤣🤣. Wouldn’t do it though. Very happy you are in a good area for yourself. Good stuff there. Take care mate 😁👍

    Andrew! You haven't been playing with matches, have you! You seem a little bit to happy!...I've met a few people who can talk at a hundred miles an hour, but none of them hold a candle to you, as fast as I tried, to listen, I couldn't understand a word you said.
    Thanks for the song Andrew, it had me smiling all the way through the hunt, for two reasons, listening to the song, and the making up of it as you go, And the fact that Ive finally found out that I'm not the only one that does it. Mine was based on " Down by the riverside" not hard to guess where I was going detecting is it!
    I had some thoughts on your first two buttons, "Advance Australia" I know it's not based on the later day anthem, which I'm not overly fond of, but how did it come about! .. And was it specially produced. And the Leviathan button, was it the origin of Levi's?...
    That key! At first I thought it was one of the most ornate keys Ive seen, well, it was and it wasn't. I'd be wrapped to find it, it would make my day! When you said the area was occupied in the 50s and 60s, I thought it's not quite old enough an area, Then I had second thoughts, Thoughts about the coins we use today, the chances are if you emptied your coin jar, there's a good chance you'll find a 1966 coin in amongst them, 58 years ago, and still in use. It would be the same out there on that site, those earlier coins cover quite a few more years than that, English and Australian, and they were all still in use. The same goes for the relics, nearly every one has handed down items from there parents and grandparents and beyond, and why wouldn't some of those things have been lost, left behind or thrown out. And going by your finds I'd have to say it's a great place to hunt! The worst thing I can say about this video is that, I know it was 24 min long but it felt like it was over in five. I stretched out over two seats on the bus, oddly enough I felt right at home and I enjoyed the bus trip! Thanks for the excursion CBK, Cheers Mate, Cheers Viv! Take care!

    • @TheCoffeeBushKid
      @TheCoffeeBushKid  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Gday Wayne. Glad you liked the song. No it was not me with the matches. It was the government body formally known as the department of sparks and embers or scorched earth. They did it bless their little cotton socks.
      I know that I said it was a dump site from the 50s and 60s 😉and if you know you know it was. Belt buckles back in the day had advance Australia on them too and as for the Leviathon company, someone commented that they are still going. I think Levi’s is from Moses Levi who was a button maker back in the day. Just think it so don’t quote me.
      You were ok taking up two seats. Glad you came along on the adventure. Take care mate 👍😁
