thanks for doing this side by side comp i really appreciate the info in this video ive been wanting to get a pair of the b1 but since they have the b2+ ill probably go with those thanks again kindly...
I'm not a big subwoofer guy, so I'm not sure the pricing of a good sub these days. I think you'd have about $200 to play with before spending as much as the B2+. If you already own a sub, I would say yes, just go with the B1s. But if you really (really) love a big bass sound, you might find yourself also wanting a sub with the B2s too as all bookshelf speakers have their limitation when it comes to producing bass.
Adding a sub or using one you already own is a great choice. You almost always get better broader mids from the smaller mid driver with less of a hole between the low mids to highs and you can add the low end when needed.
You discuss better bass performance with the B2+. How about clarity between B1+ and B2+: For instance, would dialog be more intelligible with the B2+ compared to the B1+?
Emotiva in perspective. The B2+ has excellent sound and measurements. $359 a pair as of May 2023. Sonus faber lumina: $999 a pair and the incompetent tweeter easily distorts. Emotiva isn't just a better value, they are BETTER than the lumina. Re-think high end, the lumina isn't high end, and it's not even as good as the $279 b1+. People can compare them together and when they discover these comments are accurate, they can return the lumina.
Agreed, while I haven't had Sonus Faber, I have a TON of Emotiva stuff. B1+, B2+, their little BasX amp and even a standalone preamp as well. Big fan here!
I have a pair of powered, 6.5 inch Edifier S3000 Pro speakers, that are rated at around 125W each. They are marketed as a ‘desktop’ speaker? I use them as the only speakers in a stereo home cinema set up, to watch movies, on a projector screen that is 9ft x 9ft, in a room that is 16ft x 26ft (416 sq Ft) with a 20ft high vaulted ceiling. The speakers are on bookshelf stands, 6ft out from the wall where the screen is hanging, and 10ft apart. I sit about 12ft back from the speakers. They are shake the room loud, on half volume! Unless you’re deaf, don’t worry about if they’ll be loud enough!😂
@@ramondelgado6778 The B2+'s sound more lively, with better treble performance. The 606's were just kinda bland in comparison. I listen to lots of jazz, solo guitar music, classical the B2+'s are a better match, imo, to that sort of music.
You ddin't said anything about the speakers you just talk about there specs and just said is louder so it produces more bass The end. I mean you gotta give us something explain what song did you listen to and what you heard those differences which one would you choose which one you like best sometimes bigger doesn't mean better. There is so much input that you can have said but the only thing you said was bigger bass. " That makes total sense " Don't wanna sound rude I just wish you could said a bit more about the speakers.
I added a sub to my b1+'s and the improvement was perfect no need for more bass
Awesome. One of these days I’ll get into subs but I’m hanging on to two channel for the time being lol.
I just found your channel. Very nice job. Good luck with your channel!
Thank you, Steve!

I think you will like the B2+ a lot!
Cant find either one of these for sale anymore😢
With the price difference would adding a sub be an great alternative if a person opted for b1

I found clarity to very similar since both use the same ribbon tweeter!
Thanks.

@@ForeverAnalog the Lumina are terrible. they have obvious tweeter breakup issues. At $299, that would not be acceptable. At $999. it's a crime.

Awesome, exactly what I was looking for
Do you make more contents about budget audiophile gears?
Yes, I have some other review videos on my channel. Thank you!
I'm replacing a pair of B&W 606's with the B2+.
What are your thoughts comparing the two? Thank you!

@@zTheBigFishz Thank you so much for your comment!
I decided on the T2+ over the B2+ for my surrounds because I am terrible with my money.
I hear you on being terrible with money especially when it comes to buying gear lol
The biggest difference I see is that the B1s are sold out, and probably will be for a while since they are so popular.
They pack a lot of punch inside a small footprint, so I can understand why!
B2 is now sold out too

Thank you for watching and the feedback!
Thanks for this vid. Have you had a chance to compare the B2+ with the T-Zero? They're both $499.
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately I do not own the T Zero yet. Hope to pick up a pair at some point!
What are the dimensions of the B2+? Can't locate them on Emotiva's website.
12 ¾” H x 8 ½” W x 11 1/2 “ D and they weigh 15.6 pounds each.
Good
Thank you!
I have the B1+ at my desk and they seem almost too big for this appliction...the b2 would be just way tooo big
Oh yes the B2s would definitely be too big for a desktop!
Can a marantz 2220 handle this speaker?
Easily!
@@ForeverAnalog only available from the their site?
@@ForeverAnalog on the site it says 50w and up
Yes its double the size. More bass.
Why a video ?
You’ll have to ask the 12,000 people who watched it lol
Or maybe put that extra money towards a small sub
Bi - amping yes Bi - wiring = Buy Wiring
Good catch thank you!
I wonder if the B 1 would make a good rear surround and Atmos speaker 🔊❓
I think so, yes!
