#Slipknot #Pastorrob #Reaction - Hudba
We started the channel with a Slipknot song so we figured we'd break in the new studio with the newest Slipknot song! Thank you guys for all the love and support!
I hope you the best in this new studio!
God bless you!
It was a wonderful choice! Corey has opened up a bit about the song but essentially he's facing his depression and his demons but is also saying that "if the world wants to paint me as a villain, then that's what I'll be". Many congrats on the new studio by the way and a suggestion for the future would be monsters by shinedown, it's really new but i had to watch it a few times to see and hear all of the intricacies.
Please make a reaction of The Band Ghost
You guys should definitely check out Ghost. I’m not a fan of them personally, but they have a lot of anti-religious themes that you could probably provide some good commentary on
They change their mask every album. Put some guys have small changes. I’m thinking it’s more about his depression because he said this album he was going to go into his dark parts in his life.
I forget who wrote this comment but I'm gonna quote it.
"Open minded Christians. Thank you for existing"
Your welcome
Amazing.
Open minded people, thanks for existing
You’re welcome
Your welcome
When you see the pastor slowly nodding his head and you realise that he's slowly becoming a metal head
shadowsinmymind9 think he said he’s been into metal from Demon Hunter years back with a Christian friend of his also a pastor. I think you’ll find there’s many Christian metal heads bro!
He's a definite P.O.D fan. Christian metal
There's a video where Pastor Rob alludes to liking Faith No More back in the early 90's. I think the reaction is for the song "Zombie Eaters".
@@jay2k536 powerwolf?

“Everyone is a metalhead, They just don’t know it yet.”
Not accurate, but close enough.

That is true af
I agree lol
You’re either born with it or you’re not.
I love to see open minded Christians, it’s so amazing.
There's more of us in existence than you assume... FAR more
Hi 😂
Hello there
Christian and I enjoy metal
There is a lot if us
This is probably the closest I've seen a pastor headbang.
In some countries they do actually headbang in church 😂
VampiraVonGhoulscout false. Have you ever seen the video of an entire church head banging?
@@bzawk Well maybe not a church, but I have a Scottish born Muslim friend who visited family in Pakistan and she saw them doing it there. Being a big Nirvana fan from a strict family which disapproved of basically all secular music, she found it really hilarious and weird.
Almooost.. almost
@@VampiraVonGhoulscout yes the muslims have like a traditions in the soufi groups that they sing islamic songs and dance, sometimes headbang lol
I like how they don't pause it every 2 seconds like every other reaction channels
They do it as it should be done 👌
Or talk over the video.
well they should pause it coz then there's no point of seeing the original video coz u already seen it fully in their video with no cuts, also to avoid copyright they should pause it though i do think they shouldn't talk over it and instead pause it and then tell us what they want coz if they wait until the end they'll forget.
I KNOW. other reaction channels do it so much!
Free_Wifi_Kids yes
The drummer Jay Weinberg has a famous drummer dad, Max Weinberg who is Bruce Springsteen’s drummer.
Max was also a long time drummer for Conan O’Brien. Don’t remember if he was original.
Love max great drummer.
Andrew OConnor yep
Andrew OConnor he was also a very good friend of the members of slipknot
xraysteve yup he was there day one for Conan
I think when he says "you've killed the saint in me, how dare you martyr me?" He means that his depression destroyed all his positivity, and made him want to kill himself, so "how dare you martyr me" refers to, how you (depression and suicidal thoughts) want to make me a martyr of the chaos you've created.
Those lyrics just hit home for me right now
Reads a little different for me. The old woman is obviously his mother. I also believe he's releasing the indoctrination and dogma most of are subjected to before we reach the age of reason. If there was a saint ,the dogma killed it
The building on Corey's mask is the Iowa's state capital building.
it's Saint Peters basilica at the Vatican......
It most definitely is the state Capitol I pass it multiple times a day I know that building very well
@@painhertz the top is too long for the Vatican. I thought so at first until I googled the image.

...this comment makes me so happy😁😁
Not a religious person, but thank you. Prefect example of a great person of faith. Kind, open minded, and intelligent . Glad I ran into your videos. You're a great representitive
of your faith.
“Reaching out for the hand of God but did you think you’d shake your own” is my favorite line in this song. I’ve always taking it to mean that people are so arrogant and naïve that they fancy themselves to be God but when you’re looking for help that’s not how you’ll be saved because you hold no real power. This also comes from my Christian perspective where I know God is all powerful and humans are not anything like matching that so I just think that they’re pointing out how when people fancy themselves God they are left in their despair because that’s not the case.
Can also easily looked at from the other perspective. You're reaching out to God only to realize you're all you needed all along.
Thank you for writing naïve instead of naive
@@kaidenoneill9751 I see it as the idea that you are the author of your own destiny. I don’t agree with that but it’s a common belief.
I think the biggest factor in that is how "did you think you'd..." is one of the most common ways to start a rethorical question. It's framed as a question, but in truth it's a warning.
Also like the whole song has the tone of a depressed person snapping at someone who keeps telling them to just pray the depression away, and telling them how they're misinterpreting and misusing the Christian faith.
The fact that the pastor got into so heavy made me smile. Let's call him Pastor Maggot 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Gøthik Døll 😂😈
Yesssss love it

@@xfatalxzero Erm,, maybe listen to the lyrics of their songs once.. You will get there bro.... every second song is about how putrid the whole concept is, but yeah, ur version is cool too.. (not)

I'm Christian and I've loved slipknot my whole life
I'm a Christian and I love metal. And I write my own metal music. I love seeing more Christians becoming metalheads or at least being open to listening to it as an art.
"keep a buckle on the devil and your eyes on the road" i think this means the devil is his backseat driver or passenger but he has to keep him "buckled up" so to speak
Good interpretation
They wear the masks as a way to Express themselves and their personality, the masks change each album based on how they feel at the time.
Your absolutely right.
With the way Corey has been portrayed recently when it comes to the inner workings of his two bands in the public eye he has bashed the bad guy. For example Jim root getting kicked out of stone sour = everyone blamed Corey even tho it's a full band decision, similar thing happened to the news Joey wasnt in slipknot anymore and now with slipknot percussionist Chris sueing Corey. So basically right now hes channeling the villain as that's how he feels he looks in public eye. Hence why it's very joker-ish
Not entirely true
Then you have Mick who really hasn’t changed
That's not the masks initial purpose tho. It was to hide their identities so people wld focus more on the music and less on the members and who they are.
@@nicholasgreenleaf9025 Craig never changes either. Corey, Sid and clowns mask changes drastically, chris fehn, Joey jordison, and Paul's and Jim roots masks stayed relatively the same with slight modifications or color changes. While Craig's and Mike's barely changes.
Keep a buckle on the devil and your eyes on the road could mean, restrain your demons and keep moving forward.
I'll never kill myself to save my soul, could mean, I'll never sacrifice what I love to be saved.
Tyler Hastings shit! That’s a perfect interpretation
When he says I’ll never kill myself to save my soul, it’s because he’s so full of pain from self harm and drug and alcohol abuse from personal and past experiences but he’ll never kill himself to escape that pain because of who he is
@@kb24games45 If thats the case this song REALLY shows his struggle. Its like hes debating back and forth with himself.
KB24 Games or it could mean that he’ll never change who he is as a person for religion( or the “guarantee” of going to heaven) that’s how I interpreted it
I think the "never kill myself to save my soul" line is more literal.
People with problems, depression, suicidal thoughts, often are called "troubled souls." The lyric from Corey Taylor is saying that he's overcome or overcoming his own depression. if you know the bands history you know a small sliver of shit that Corey Taylor has been through.
Of course the line also references religion and how Suicide is the ultimate cowards act. People often think ending one's own life is way to escape the pain, but all it does is hurt the people around you.
React to SOLWAY Firth by slipknot. It’s their newest song!
You guys really seem to like Slipknot. I would like to suggest "Bother" by Stone Sour. Which is a band headed by Corey Taylor, as well. I think it would be a good video for you guys
Don't forget to mention James Root from also Slipknot back when he used to be in Stone Sour
VERMILLION and Vermillion Pt. 2 BOYYYYYS!
love u.
yaaaaaasss
As a Christian who enjoys Slipknot, I greatly appreciate and admire his input. He isn’t afraid to use reason and logic in order to explain the faith, and he looks at the song from an open-minded perspective.
My take on "I'll never kill myself to save my soul" is that he'll never change who he is and pretend to be something he's not just to do what someone else says will save his soul. His soul being something in which seems an abstract thing in contrast to what he feels in his heart.
Thats how i take it as well
"Metalcore is my jam"
I like this guy 👍
“Keep a buckle on the devil and an eye on the road” to me means to bury the depression and inner pain and keep moving forward with your life
I thought it means that you should control your inner demons (rather than burying them) and focus on moving forward.

We really do need more people like this.
is it normal for christians to only listen to christian music? I knew a lot of religious people growing up who listened to all the same music most people did?
Chiyori Nakanishi I mean it’s nice and all, some people like that music because of the message and the way it sounds, brings them closer to God. I don’t think there’s a “norm” for Christians to follow in terms of taste in music and movies and all.
I’m Catholic and I’ve quite a couple of other Catholics friends who listen to metal (from heavy metal to death metal). It’s pretty cool, I guess it’s more like whatever brings you closer to your faith or whatever brings you joy without hurting anyone is great.
@@ChichiNaka, there's a difference between being secular and liking secular things.

Can I just say I really respect your guys’ honesty and reactions. As someone who struggles with presenting my beliefs or personality honestly it’s really refreshing to hear you’re positivity to bands I like and the similar deeper looking at lyrics.
To go with any form of depression and overcoming metal song, Lamb of God Momento Mori is a good shut the voices up and push forward song, and has been my go to lately. Curious of your thoughts on song
Love the new set, audio is fantastic! So the story for the masks was revealed in an interview with Larry King, "it...allowed us to kind of let that animal off the chain. It allowed us to be free on stage."
Yeah, the inflections of his son's speech impediment are very noticeable... not to sound like i am passing any judgment, just stating my observation
the original reason was because Shawn Crahan used to bring a clown mask to rehearsals when they started as a band. but Corey did state they wear masks more or less let the animal off the chain and feel free on stage. there was also someone in the band saying that we as people are looked at as numbers and not anything else to a lot of people and the uniforms with numbers was just a play on that idea.
I think it's to help them let go of their civilized selves and let loose some of the primal, feral energy. Go wild, so to speak.
The band has also stated the masks are direct people to the music, not what they would physically look like without wearing the masks. Further down the line, the masks are used to express the inner personality/demons that the individual was going through between albums.
So, I'm a Pagan, have loved Slipknot since they came out, and I have the utmost respect for you guys, and your respect for the music. Thank you for being so open minded, and giving a new perspective on one of the greatest bands in metal history

On loudwire, there is an article about the emotional backstory to Corey’s mask that tells what the album is about. It’s about rising up and healing from what has hurt you
Do you remember the name of it?
@@Linnerd "slipknot fan shares emotional attachment to new corey taylor mask". it pretty much talks about how a fan said Corey's mask is a close match to a mask used to treat and heal skin grafts. the fan was in a fire at a young age and had to wear said mask to help heal, and that Corey's mask could symbolise healing from hurt in the past
@@ashleighrobotham1672 That fan story is a tribute saying why they like the mask. It's not what Corey said about it. Here is what Corey said in an interview with Kerrang! : "“My vision was about trying to create something uncomfortable - not only for me to wear, but for people to look at.
“I wanted it to feel like it was something that was created in someone’s basement - something that was made specifically to fuck with people.
“It’s the representation of public opinion turning on a dime. They want to tear people down for the way they live, even if they don’t really know them.
“It’s been liberating to embrace that side and be like, ‘Fuck you. I really don’t give a shit what you think about me, so here’s this!’”

The purpose of the masks is that they should represent the person behind it. Thats why most of them change them that much because like Corey said "no one stays the same with the time". :)
That's not the purpose, that's just the reason they change them. The purpose of the masks was. Original so people wldnt worry about who they were and focus on their looks instead to focus more on the music. That's why for a long time nobody even knew who they were.

I've been listening to this song for months now and only just saw the lyrics... wow!. Slipknot are truly an incredible band.
I feel the need to point out this is more about the problems with the Church than with the faith
Disagree....
'Pick a lord to pray to'
The religion is irrelevant with that line, therefore the church is irrelevant in his view. Just my take.
Where do you get that feeling from?
@@clay25420 The aesthetic of the video itself, which is heavily catholic oriented, as well as the portrayal of hypocrisy and the way he describes things being Forced onto him. "You killed the saint in me, how dare you martyr me". That's something I can relate to, being raised catholic. They took the joy of faith out of me, they made me skeptical of faith, until I was much older and realized the church and the faith are not the same thing.
I feel like a lot of people raised catholic have the same experience, and non catholic christians always think when we talk about that that we are attacking all christians, rather than the church, and in fact even take it as a personal attack on THEIR faith, which is often miles apart from what we have an issue with to begin with.
Max Sand I listened to the song and it definitely could be taken in different messages. “Pick a lord and you pray to it” for me was criticizing how people put superficial things on pedestals in their lives, something which I never really understood. Also, the line where it says “But your bibles don’t work on me,” I was thinking about negative or false preaching that goes on in the Christian faith in general, where instead of being an open-arms and loving faith, it’s presented as “Do this or go to hell!” Another thing that’s always bothered me.
As for what you said about “You killed the saint in me...”, I definitely agree with that. I was also raised Catholic and hated how other people of my faith and non-Catholic Christians look down on you when you have a certain music taste and pull out “the devil” card.
The Church and the faith might not be the same thing at all but people within the Church (from ordinary people to the archbishop who confirmed me) have strengthened my faith for sure. What the song did for me was basically give me all that anger and rage from the negativity I experienced from other people of the faith and turn it into as being part of the community that wants to help. Instead of turning back on the Church, I’d rather turn my back to the negative ideas and views that plague it.
But I think it’s awesome to see other Catholic metalheads. It’s always a funny dynamic when you have people from both sides saying one isn’t compatible with the other.
@@gabrielcabello9227 and there in lies the main hook of the song "I'll never kill myself to save my soul". I like metal, it's a part of me, and to not listen to it because some people interpret it wrong or whatever would be killing a part of me to, in their mind, "save my soul". I refuse. I don't believe God will damn me for eternity over my taste in music, and in fact God would understand the message the artist is getting across better than anyone, so there is zero chance God would misinterpret some lyrics. If I am to be judged harshly it's going to be because of my Faith or my Deeds not living up to what they should, not because I listen to Slayer.
Max Sand I completely agree with that! I took it the same way too, “I refuse to change who I am just to accommodate what *you* think is a ‘good’ Catholic” was the thing that played in my head.
And yeah, God is omniscient so even if a song is really anti-Christian, He would know if you’re still true to Him.
I agree with the last part too, judge me on my character not on my tastes.
Metal to me has a really big thing that is common with Church: You’re part of this massive body of people, a community, and everyone is part of something that is way larger than themselves.
God knows that when my love for metal was strong, my faith was too at the same time. Metal can just be another pipeline that leads you straight to God.
Rock on my guy! \m/

I'm not religious, actually agnostic, but I love the pastor's reactions and interpretations of these metal songs. A lot of hate and nonsense has been going around in the media about Christians and even though I am not christian, it drives me crazy. Most of my family is Christian and they are some of the best people you will ever meet. I don't go to church, but there is a place called riverside in my hometown that has a big following and they do a lot for the community. Not only do they not help a lot of people, they are super open minded. I went for a service once with my mom and I left feeling better about life. Everyone is very nice and friendly and they don't judge. I'm not saying that Christians are wrong, but I think no one really knows until they die and after that point how do you pass along the knowledge. If you guys read this comment I am actually curious about reincarnation. They say that christians use to believe in it and then it was taken out of text or however you want to put it. I would like to know your thoughts on that. Keep up the good work and thank for being open minded about the metal community. Some of the most talented musicians exist in this genre not to metion the most diverse type of music is metal.
thank you its so refreshing seeing Christians actually understanding this genre of music and being completely respectful and open minded
Reminds me of their first album. The sound of the drums is very representative of their older material.
I think in the line “keep a buckle on the Devil and your eyes on the road” he is referring to depression as the Devil and is saying to make sure it knows it’s place and to persevere. Great video though. This is probably my favorite Slipknot song along with Snuff and I am excited for the new album. I have a few song suggestions below for future videos.
Alice In Hell- Annihilator
Hallowed be Thy Name- Iron Maiden
Something to Believe In- Bon Jovi
Holy Wars- Megadeth
Beast and the Harlot- Avenged Sevenfold
It would be cool to get a religious perspective on these songs from an expert. Love the content. God Bless and Rock On 🤘🏻🙏🏻🎸
Or maybe the devil is just a metaphor for some of the demons he has in his closet and the buckle is keeping it from getting in your way
React to the slipknot documentary on youtube, its pretty sad
Its called
The tragic history of slipknot

Nice suggestion
Get this to the top
No they shouldn’t, Brian is the guy that monetised Clown’s daughters death video, it’s not a good channel
@@lewisbates5208 wait. What? Can you explain?
F*** Rockfeed don’t give them any more views.
I love this song...thank you for reviewing it guys
I have just come across this page and already I love what you’re producing and saying! Sometimes it’s hard to be a lover of metal, and bands like slipknot and justify it with my Christianity! Likes and subscribed and followed on insta
The thing on Coreys Face was Iowas capital building!
akidnameddylan huh! I didn’t know that!
I’m an agnostic atheist and huge slipknot fan, but I wanted to say I love your reactions and support you all the way! Keep up the great work guys!
Michael Kostis agnostic atheist? How does that work. Atheist don’t believe in any higher power
Jeff Go I don’t believe in a higher power but I acknowledge the possibility that there could be
Michael Kostis makes sense
The thing with depression is it literally is a dark devilish cloud that sucks all the goodness and all the life out of you. I’ve suffered with depression and anxiety for years now and it gets so overwhelming it consumes every ounce of you as a human being. I’m a big Slipknot fan and unfortunately for people like Corey, myself and many others, the dark cloud blocks out any goodness. No matter how much you Pray, no matter how much you beg and plead, the darkness always wins
4:56 when he said “oh a dj” with a big smile on his face i couldn’t stop laughing for some reason🤣
Pastor is a metalhead period. Like, dude is totally informed about members. 🤘🔥

Corey stated in an Interview that the masks are used exactly the way you described it. They can let go to a greater degree than without them
I've come back in September 2020 to watch this again as I often do, because I really enjoy seeing you pull apart lyrics and visuals from a completely different mind set that it was originally aimed at. And this one is one of the best ones in my opinion.
Just as a side note, how cool would it be to have Corey to sit down with you and expain in his own words what the meaning behind his lyrics really are, just to see how close or far you are. I think he'd find your outlook and opinions interesting. Would make a good video.
My god you guys have grown tremendously much love
I reccommend taking some time and reading 7 Deadly Sins By Corey Taylor. the book is his thoughts and life experiences with the 7 sins. It helps put a lot of perspective in his lyric choices.
You should totally react to Architects Doomsday or Royal Beggars
Definitely Doomsday
Or Broken Cross
Architects is pretty meh tho
Doomsday or Hereafter!
@@Lonewolf1298_ for the most part I'd kinda agree, but Doomsday is great.
you loved that breakdown!!
I’m Christian, and I love how this guy represented how not all Christians and close minded. I also love how he doesn’t judge anything about the genre or the people who like it because he knows that god has stated before that judging others, both yourself and under god’s name, is just as bad or worse than the people you are judging for doing something considered wrong. Some Christians will be so quick to judge others for their sins and it creates a harsh environment in some churches where they claim to accept everyone but push out people different strictly based on their own judgement, despite the message that all sins are forgiven. I’m so glad to see a pastor like this because I can tell that he is a great person and understands what faith truly is ❤
I would love it if you would do Metallica’s song “the god that failed”
Aaron Sherwood we need this
React to The Devil In I by Slipknot
They've already done that song
@@samueleargento8451 No they haven't. Only Snuff and All Out Life, which was the first reaction video. It was even mentioned in THIS video...
I want to see them get scared.
Hey I don’t usually comment but you guys are awesome!! Having an open mind to new music I love it
+Kris Mutimer 🙏🏻
One thing about slipknot (or stone sour), especially if you listen to interviews with Corey about Songs and/or lyrics: Don't take them at face value. The meaning can be something totally different. An example being "Killpop", "30-30-150", "Duality". The man is a lyrical genius, and as you can tell from Snuff, there's a lot of depth behind what he's saying. Definite props for giving them an honest, unbiased review
"Sounds like it's outside of my headphones."
That, my friend, is soundstage. Many "flavor" audiophile headphones have this. Not so much with studio monitoring headphones, typically.
I clicked on the video because I was interested to see how it would go, and I gotta say, as someone who's been a fan of Slipknot since their debut album, I appreciate that you guys approach the music with an open mind. I'm not religious myself, but I do believe in a higher power. So it's always refreshing to see people of faith who aren't super judgmental.
Learn a lot by ur message and Explanation
As an orthodox christian i would love to see more priests/pastors like u in the orthodox "community"
