- Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit - consisting of sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg - harmoniously blend vocals, pensive songwriting, and flowery pop eventually leading to them building a devoted international following.
Their latest studio album, "Palomino," still has strong roots in Americana and folk, but it also crosses more into ‘80s pop territory with its punchier drums, and increased instrumental variety - including synthesizers in some tracks. "Palomino" is available on @columbiarecords.
Before their performance at The Palace Theatre in St. Paul, The Current’s Bill DeVille sat down with the sisters to discuss touring, their all-time favorite Leonard Cohen songs and Artificial Intelligence in music.

Ladies, I am an old Boomer who grew up in the U.S. listening to Country Music and able to boast seeing Emmylou live five different times over the years. You solidified your place in the hearts of American Country music fans forever with your tribute to Emmylou with your original song "Emmylou" - and your rendition of "Red Dirt Girl." You know of course that you did all of us and Emmylou proud while bringing a tear not just to Emmylou's eye, but eveyone's eye. I hope to catch you 'live' on a trip to the states in the future. Take care and God Bless!
First ,I just want to thank The Current for this feel good interview. We were at the First Aid kit concert at the Palace Theater in St. Paul, and wow, they are just amazing!
Johanna and Klara are so loved for their music, and for who they are 💖 I just hope I'm fortunate enough to see them again before I reach the finish line.
☮ ❤
Only 806 views? Strange. Love these ladies, been to watch them live every time they’ve visited Manchester uk for many years ❤
Their cover of the McGarrigles song Complainte pour Ste. Catherine was simply amazing. One would swear that they grew up in Quebec
Great gals, followed from the beginning.
Found out that these girls are cousins of mine. Distant cousins but I will claim them. Sorry I missed them in Vancouver. Next time.
They look hella thick on the album cover.❤
What does Klara see in the ceiling?
he always looks like that on interview ´s🙄
They’re so polite not to tell him that’s not how they pronounce their names😋😆
Well, it's not like they sing in Swedish. It spares an interviewer looking foolish.
Well how do they?
