True that, however, police would eventually establish his fault as he crossed more than one line, meaning car did not hit him from behind - he hit the car with his rear side. Not the same as being hit from behind.
Actually, even changing only one line and this accident happenes, it still would have been his fault as he would have been moving to occupied space, again not the same as being hit from behind even if it was the rear side of his vehicle that was involved in contact.

It is said in Islam that knowledge acquired fills one half. The other other half is admitting that you do not know. This full circle makes a man. By admitting that you are the cause of the accident you have (1) shown you are a knowledgeable person i.e. you have completed the full circle, and (2) shown your humility and honesty knowing that you will have to face financial repercussions even though you had the opportunity to take advantage of the law.

And a man admitting his mistake can only have my respect. And your explanation of the real root cause of the problem is a very important one and my accident (1st) last year was caused by my impatience and poor judgment which I think is similar. And to tell yourself not do do something dangerous or risky and continue to do so is looking for trouble and this is what we all can learn from since I am guilty of that during my daily commute at times. So again we can only wish you good luck, speedy recovery and continue your adventure to share with us Bro.......,take care.

The older I get, the more I have to control myself to avoid mistakes like that (had a comparable crash myself some years ago and I was comparably lucky). We all have this one inattentive second that we can't afford once in a while and we have to be thankful for every time, we don't have to regret it. And YES!!! - always dress for the slide and not just for the ride. That's what I had to learn the hard way, too. Please, Pavril, take care of yourself. Technically you are correct, he should get a new one right now. But they are very expensive and he has spares at home. His call. Databyter

In the rider training courses we were taught to always look over the shoulder after checking the mirror to avoid any blind-spots. At first I thought it to be unnecessary if your mirrors are positioned correctly, but the thing is they always are not, especially after putting the helmet on the right mirror while parking - as I do. Looking over the shoulder before changig lines has saved me from several crashes and now I swear by it and always do it even if I am certain that there is nobody there - just to keep the habit alive. I thank You Pavlin for all the knowledge you have shared over the years and I am so glad that you came out of a serious crash with minor injuries. All the best.

Haven't been by in while. When I first started riding 4 years ago, you were my online voice of learning, and reason. Cannot thank you enough for your contribution to me becoming a new female rider at 42. Will always be grateful.
Just the other day, and with the increasingly hotter Summers, plus seeing other 'cooler' riders, I wondered whether I was being ridiculous insisting on always riding in my full gear. And 4 years in, I totally get your comment regarding always checking and double checking,... and that sometimes we make decisions that weren't according to our '100% sure I am ok to manoeuvre' standard.
Pavlin. So, so glad you are alive, and seemingly ok. Thank you as always for sharing your experiences and continuing to be a Motorcycle Role model, whether for new or experienced riders. This video is a much needed reminder to remain with best gear possible and aim for 100% safe in every decision.
    Stay safe!

Thank you so much for your report on the crash. I have been riding for 50 plus years and I can see that it is so easy to make a small miss judgement very easily. I appreciate you being so up front. From Kiwi Dave living in Canada. Thanks

Thanks for such a clear explanation of how and why the accident happened, Pavlin. I’m sure that many of us will benefit greatly from your experience. Lastly, knowing you
, I’m not surprised that you told the truth an readily accepted your responsibility. Such increasingly rare instances renew one’s confidence in humanity. 👍💪

Nearly did exactly the same thing myself the other day. Glad you are ok it could have been so much worse. The fact you have shared this kind of rider error in such vivid detail to the huge audience that you have may well end up saving many lives in the future.

Very good, it is refreshing to hear about mistakes. I learned from this video. I have been on motorcycles for a long time and sometimes I find myself becoming complacent, turning before I am sure it is clear. Thank you for sharing. I am glad you weren't injured. Stay safe.

    Great stuff.
Respect for the humility and admission of guilt.

I have worked in 46 different countries and have used a lot of Taxi and Istanbul was the only place I was ever injured in a traffic accident. Hope you are well with no injuries.

Hi Pavlin, so glad you are okay. Having followed your channel for years it does not surprise me at all that you acted with honesty and integrity, even in a moment of crisis. Travel well my friend.

Pavlin , glad to see you came out your crash virtually unscathed. Keep up your great videos.
I too had a major crash (hit a deer). If it wasn’t for my full set of protection… I am obsoletely certain I would’ve ended up in a wheelchair. I had 7 broken ribs. Without the spine pad, I am certain I would have broken my back. Good for you for promoting proper protection👍👍

    Pavlin,
This crash will haunt you for a while.
But outside of your knee and your mental strength you will soon be your old self again!
Fortunately, you can still retell it!
you have a good guardian angel!😇😇

I also had a wreck on the highway and without a helmet, I would be dead. I don't understand how someone could ride without one. Glad to hear your're ok, save healthy and get well!

Thank you Pavlin for your honesty and for reminding us to be 100% sure before committing to a manoeuvre. IF IN DOUBT - DON’T DO IT! Very grateful to you. I will be reviewing the armour in my motorcycle gear. Congratulations on your brilliant channel.
