- The Orion spacecraft for NASA's Artemis II mission is on the move in this news update video, with Lockheed Martin getting ready for altitude chamber testing at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The last certification hot-fire static test of an RS-25 development engine was completed the same week, and now the SLS program and Aerojet Rocketdyne/L3 Harris are building flight engines for Artemis V and beyond. The agency also announced the selection of three Lunar Terrain Vehicle proposals for feasibility study work in hopes that an unpressurized rover will be on the lunar surface when the Artemis V crew lands there next decade.

I love these updates. Thanks Philip
The fact we get these updates at no cost is so amazing. Thank you so much for all your work Philip!
You're welcome.
Thx for the update! Great work, as always!
You're welcome.
I just found your channel 👍
Thanks
Good job
Thanks
That's one beautiful spacecraft!
Hope to see some video of the move released by NASA PAO next week.
@@PhilipSloss I wanted to say that though you are really underrated, you produce quality content and I wanted to congratulate and acknowledge you for that!
Thanks, appreciate it.
I think the Apollo CSM was much better looking.
Awesome work!
Thanks.
1:34 I wouldnt want to be named after a 'checkout building'. Tempting fate, knowing my luck!
Heh. The O&C Building is one of a few posthumously named after Neil Armstrong. Part of the building is iconic, since that's also where the NASA astronaut crew quarters are located. We see NASA flight crews leave the O&C on the way to the pad on launch day, including at least Apollo 11.
Do we even have viable spacesuits yet?
The lunar surface suits that Axiom is now developing from a NASA reference design for Artemis III are supposed to make it through critical design review this year. As with everything, we'll see.

@philip sloss, when will the Artemis II CSM get its big NASA worm?
At least for Artemis I, a big NASA worm logo was placed on one or more of the Service Module fairing panels. IIRC, the logo was painted or affixed in the MPPF after the panels were installed where the Artemis II spacecraft is now in the O&C Building. But we'll have to see if that sequence changes this time.
If they stuck with the sequence from Artemis I and are able to stay close to the new schedule, the spacecraft would be headed over to the MPPF in the Fall. So maybe we'd see that by the end of this year.
@@PhilipSloss Im hoping for a good plastic model kit for the Artemis CSM now that we are returning to the Moon!
Not a chance of SpaceX being ready.
