We used to go to JB every year for a vacation back in the 70’s . The downtown was full of gift shops , it was fun as a kid to go through all the shops . We used to stay at what now is called Pelicans Rest Motel but back in the 70’s it was very nice place .
In 1971 when I was 11 I was swimming at the beach and got hit in the head by a surf board , 8 stitches .
My dad bought 2 homes there and rented them out but always had problems with renters so he sold them 2 years later .
We used to go to Christmas service at a large church on Skyline Dr , what a view .
Poor Bobs at the causeway and Indian River Rd was a great place to eat . I believe a hurricane took it out .
