Snapper and flathead fishing in Port Phillip Bay

  • Snapper and flathead fishing is very popular in Port Phillip Bay, and can be very productive. On this trip we were in Coria Bay, which is at the Geelong end of Port Phillip Bay.
I have done very little flathead and snapper fishing. In face, I have a feeling the last pinkie snapper or flathead that I caught was in 1999.
After 1085 videos on my this channel, robbiefishing, I have finally made a salt water fishing video. I hope you enjoy it.

Mantis shrimp are one of my fav animals.
There are 2 general types, they one you caught had the hard numbs and shatters crabs shells to feed on.
The others have a spear and spear fish.
The one you caught can hit so fast that it separates water with a shock wave and crest sparks in the air pocket.
    They are incredible.

@@robbiefishing I sure have mate I done deep sea fishing on Charter boat going after tuna that was fun as was well worth the money pulling in big fish. Last time I went out to sea was back in 2016 catching pinkies and flathead..

On another note, who knew a big yabbie could draw blood 😂, found that out in last video. Haha Great job robbie

well done Robbie, one time i went fishing up near Coffs Harbour, we were pulling 45 centimetre flat heads up 2 at a time, we fed 3 families dinner for a week with the fish we caught, it was weird because we had a radio on board and we could hear the other boats talking to each other, all of them were saying how they were catching nothing, my brother, father and i couldnt pull them up quick enough, anyway, it turned out that we had apparently drifted in to a national park or something like that where fishing was prohibited, and thats why the fishing was so good, felt a little guilty when i found out, but, all that lovely tasting fish helped me get over it.
