I am currently planning my bday trip for next month and this is 1 of the resorts I'm considering; thank you for an excellent review.
Great tour! I’ll be headed there for a site visit as well!! You gave me a great idea of what to expect!!
Thanks, we really appreciate the comment. Have a great trip and safe travels!
I was there last summer for my first time and absolutely loved it! The steak house is amazing! I had dinner there 4 times! The Italian restaurant is amazing as well and the brewery is amazing! I had the Swim Up room which was really cool! I just booked another stay at the resort for later this summer and can’t wait! Just a really nice resort! Highly recommend!
Thanks for the feedback. We liked it there as well, and it’s always great to get other options from people who have been there too.
Safe Travels!
Evening entertainment please.
Thank you, as we do love to relax but also go and listen and dance to music if we feel like it.
Thanks again
2:03 wow! Nice pool!
Great content ❤
Thank you guys for your comments and for visiting us. Greetings 👋
We took a family of 6 here back in March, we did have to get 2 rooms, whats interesting is that we were able to put two teenagers in one room, we put our 20 year old in one room as the adult, along with our 16 and 14 year old, then we had our 8 year old in our room. We were in a Paradise Swim-Up Premium Suites, so maybe the 2 teenager rule is only for non-suites? We enjoyed the resort a lot, but there are a few things to add to your comments; you don't mention it, but the fact that the bathrooms are not private in most rooms (the walls are just wood with a pattern in them that you can see through) is another reason why families might not be happy here. The beach is great for ocean gazing, but the actual in-water area in front of the resort is very rocky and not a great swimming area. You can however go down to the propery next to the resort and the beach is better there. We all enjoyed the food a lot, including the room service. The swim-up rooms in the main hotel (not the villas) do not have a swim-up bar, or ability to swim into the main pool, its just a small private pool for the swim-up guests. We didn't like the whole Joe Merchants point system. While it's nice having the ability to stock your own mini-bar with the things you like, I didn't like feeling limited with points. In the end, we just waited until the last day of our trip and just spent points on snacks and candy to take home.
Thanks for the information, that is very helpful. We did notice the bathroom issue, but didn’t tour the family side and was hoping it would be a little more discreet than the adults only side, but it doesn’t look like that was your experience. We didn’t get a chance to stay there, only tour the property. We stayed at Secrets Cap Cana this trip, so it’s nice to have others experiences and opinions to help us. We will definitely keep this in mind when recommending this resort to our clients. Thanks again and safe travels.
Thanks for the info about the bathrooms. I don’t know why they think an adult couple wouldn’t want bathroom privacy.
@@take2-travel Which one would you say is better, the Secrets Cap Cana or the Margaritaville?
Congratulations on the video. What month did you stay at the resort?
Thanks! We were there in July.
Hi, ive been looking 2 day's solid for your review lol and hey i finally found it again, so obviously i subscribed.
I would like to ask , we are booked in a luxury swimup suite with a terrace.
And we're staying for 14 nights basically because we're flying in from the UK on a 9.5hr flight.
Could you lovely couple let us know if we would get a wet bar, if not then would we be able to purchase alcohol for our suite on the number of nights we are staying.
Also it's our 1st anniversary so we wanted to make sure we were there for our special occasion, also i was told there is no evening entertainment? Is this true? And, what do guests do of an evening please .
Thank you for such a detailed review, we were going to change resorts but fly out in less than 6 weeks.
Thank you again for a great review.
Oh wow, thank you so much for searching for us and subscribing. It's been a bit since we were there and they have changed a few things up, but I'll share what I remember. They had several different varieties of entertainment available in the evening. They had pool parties that carried over into the evening, and different events around their "Main Stage" area like live bands and silent disco parties. They also have bonfires on the beach and live entertainment there too. These happen on different nights, so you would have to check the event schedule when you arrive so you don't miss them. They also have live music and entertainment at the brewery that is on site. So, that is an option too. The luxury rooms come with a daily full-stocked mini-bar. You should also receive what they refer to as "Joe Merchant's" credits or cash. This is free money you are able to use in the merchant shop. You can use that money to personalize your in-room bar or get some snacks. When we were there they had a large selection of alcohol and snacks available to purchase with the Joe Merchant credits and it was reasonably priced. I know a few things have changed, but overall I think it operates pretty much the same as it did when we visited. I believe you will have a great time. I know we can't wait to go back and visit again. Make sure to tell them it's your anniversary when you arrive. Sometimes resorts will provide something special for you when you are celebrating a special occasion like that. I hope this helped a little. When you get back, send us a message and let us know what you think. I'd be interested in knowing your opinion on the place. Safe Travels!
Thank you for your advise, would like to know what is the section in front of beach
You’re welcome, we’re glad you found the video helpful. They have recently changed the name of several areas in the resort, so I’m not 100% sure. I believe they are referring to those now as “beachfront”. In the past I believe they were “ocean view”.
are all the restaurants/bars included with the price of your stay or do you have to pay separately for them? Thank you in advance!
Yes, all of the bars and restaurants are included. You can eat and drink as much as you want.
Alambike, a designer restaurant is not.
If i choose the room that has the private pool i cannot use the pool with the swim up bar in the villa?
As long as you are staying in one of the villas you have access to the villa swim up bar. The S.O.S Villa bar is exclusive for all villa guests.
I think the bigger flaw for us not having kids is going to the restaurants and having to deal with the kids we prefer an adults only resort and this wouldn’t suit us ,that’s a shame too because it is someplace we would love to try it
We agree, we are the same way when it comes to wanting a kid free vacation. I have heard they recently split the resort and are now doing an adults only pool, restaurant, and bar. I’m not sure how many restaurants or which ones are adults only, they haven’t said, but it’s a start.
I'm looking to book a resort in mid september. How's the beach and water activities. Is there any night club
They have the typical beach and water activities you find at many resorts including beach volleyball, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc. They do have a good nightlife. When we were there, they had night pool parties, beach bonfires, and nightly entertainment in the theater. They have a brewery onsite too that offers live music, and they show sporting events on their big screen. They have split the resort into an adults only section and a family-friendly section since we were there, so some activities may have changed a little and they may have added even more. Safe Travels!
Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you for watching. We appreciate the support.
I'm going to Punta Cana in the month of July. Did you like Secrets Resort or Margaritaville better?
That’s a tough one but I think the Secrets edges it out a little. But it’s really two different vibes. Secrets is all adults only, elevated luxury. Margaritaville is mix of family and adult, with adult sections. It’s beautiful and very nice with excellent food but not the romantic vibe that Secrets offers.
How would you compare this to the Secret Cap Cana? We care more about the food and beach.
I think Secrets has them beat when it comes to the food and beach. I liked both resorts and think either would be a great option, but for food and beach, I would go back to Secrets. I did a video on our time a Secrets here is the link.

@@take2-travel thank you!
How did you get from the airport to the resort and the cost
We typically book our transfers included in our vacation packages. The company that we use is called Amstar. I’m not sure of the cost, because it’s figured into the package, but you could go to their website or have your travel agent look it up when they are quoting your trip.
I don't get it!? If a room holds 4, why would it matter to them if it were adults, teens or small kids. that doesn't make any sense at all.!!
We agree and don’t understand that policy either. We have reached out to that resort and a few other with the same policy, trying to get clarification as to why they do this. Non of the resort have given a clear explanation as to why.
It’s for safety and insurance issue
Do you recommend Sanctuary Cap Cana?
We haven’t had the chance to visit that resort yet, so I’m not familiar with what it has to offer. I haven’t heard anything negative about it. If you go there let us know your thoughts on it. I would be curious to know what you think. Safe travels!
My husband and I stayed at Sanctuary Cap Cana in December 2022 and it is awesome! The rooms are beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the food and drinks are amazing and the service is outstanding. We also had a butler which was great. We really enjoyed our stay!
Is it worth paying more for adults only! This doesn’t seem like a kids resort’
It really depends on your taste and vacation style. If you want to be sure there are some areas you can enjoy where kids won’t be around, then I would suggest the adults only area. But if it doesn’t bother you to have families and kids around in the pool and the room areas, then you’ll probably be just fine in the regular part of the resort.
What exactly would one miss out on if you book the family side? Can you still use the entire place? And all of its offerings?
@@thomasoleson2651 No, the Rum restaurant is only for the Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock, a bar and one Pool.
Many terrible experiences. Most importantly I had money stolen from my room and replaced with a fake money! Customer service and the complaint I attempted to make was not taken seriously and unprofessionally handled. The hotel beach was not so clean with too many rocks. Construction can be seen within areas around the property, blocking the ocean views. The room service menu was extremely minimal in options.
Nice beach ?? It’s as hard as concrete and the water’s edge has sharp rocks all the way along , it’s a horrible man made beach with not enough sand on it and it stinks . I Was here in June 2022 🫣
Thanks for your feedback. It’s always nice to hear about others experiences. When we were there the beach was recently scraped and the sand was much softer. We didn’t get into the water or go to the water edge so it’s good to get that feedback.
Where is the beach…..very disappointed
