      No problem. It is a fair comment. Truth is The warning uses some backing track. But pretty minimal. A 2nd guitar when Dany solos, an accent here or there, a vocal once in a while. Many songs have nothing. Watch some more of this concert and you will be more and more impressed...until you get the great opportunity to see them live. I prefer honesty and fairness. Honestly, when all is said and done, this is one of the best bands out there right now.

    Song is from the 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene. A concept album, released in 2018 when they were 18 16 and 13. The title comes from expression of frustration. They were having a hard time finishing this song, and wanted to give up. Their Dad kept encouraging them to complete it. If the album story interests you , the QOTMS album was played in it's entirrty at Lunario CDMX 2018.

    Ale's bass is a Spector USA Custom NS-5XL Ale's Inferno 5 string. According to Spector when delivered in 2020, "one of the most spectacular buckeye tops we've ever done." Ale has been playing a different Spector for the live performances recently, apparently the same model but finished in I believe Hyper Blue rather than Ale's Inferno.
    Over time Ugh has steadily become a favorite of mine! Great instrumentals by all and then of course Dany's amazing vocals💥🔥🤘

    Most of TWA aren't into backing tracks that misrepresent the band on stage. However, The Warning tracks are mostly for ornamentation. If we take those out, the songs won't be affected much. When an extra instrument is an integral part of the song, The Warning will invite a musician for their shows. You will see that later with Revenant from this concert at Teatro Met. As long as integrity of presentation is there, ornamental backing tracks played by the same artist shouldn't be a problem.

    Ugh was the working title for the song when they were writing their 2nd Album Queen of the Murder Scene which you will see abbreviated as QOTMS.
    They went through 20+ (from them) variations of this song and they dreaded working on it hence the name.
    When the time came to officially name the songs on the album they couldn’t come up with a better name so Ugh stuck because it fit the theme of the concept album.
    The song is basically about a girl’s unrequited infatuation beginning to turn into an obsession which continues the storyline of the first chapter.
    The album is 4 chapters of 3 songs each with a prologue song (Dust to Dust).
    Fun Fact (famous Pauism): the struggles in completing this song led to the creation of 2 other songs on the QOTMS album, The One and The Sacrifice.

    Ale's bass is a custom Spector NS5-XL made for her (it's got The Warning's lightning bold logo as an inlay on the fretboard, and she designed the color, which is popular enough that Spector now offers it as a custom color). And yeah, TW plays with a track (using a technique invented by Pete Townshend, SPEAKING OF LIVE AT LEEDS), to add keys and sometimes some background second guitar or effects. But they don't need to, when the computer's broken down they just go for it raw and they're just fine.

    Watch Dany's pedal Board rundown videos, and you can see how she makes her wall of sound live. You only "Think" your hearing 2 guitars, and instantly thinking it's a backing track is normal, but not so. It's about splitting and time change to the amps. When you go see them live, you will see & feel the difference.

    • @RealLifeCoupleReact
      @RealLifeCoupleReact  Před 5 měsíci +4

      Few bands do this especially 3 pieces and Tool have done this on the salival recording live. There's slight delay between the 3 different amps which gives it more of a chorus/stereo sound. Sounds mega! Loving it and it's used to good effect

    • @gmantw
      @gmantw Před 5 měsíci +5

      @@RealLifeCoupleReactNot just a time delay, but a slight octave difference too. It is fancy gizmos being used, but it is her playing and not a recording all Ronnie Radke style. Pau's laptop with the simple tracks they use are clicks, and small effects, with some piano work, but it's all them, not some computer generated studio wizardry. They make their studio sound as close to the live sound as possible. For this reason, I call them a "Studio Quality Live Band". That is one of the things that has drawn me in so deep with them. They are the real deal, and hearing/seeing three young ladies melt my face off, with nothing more than an instrument and an amplifier, well.....I'm Sold! 🤘

    They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them.
    Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
    Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience along the way in addition to their great preparation since they were little girls.
    Their attitude, discipline and willingness to achieve their goals are leading them to great and well-deserved achievements.
    Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra are still on the path to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think that reaching it will be inevitable.
    Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.”
    I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
    And not only in the technical aspect, but they have also already shown that they have an exquisite taste for the good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
    Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and a fraternal team totally committed to their project...
    And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them (and exponentially growing too) that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
    Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented young women who make good songs...
    No, it’s about music, really about art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius female performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
    The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity.
    Allways everybody have to appreciate each of these amazing rock masterpieces in all their dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
    Dany, Pau & Ale are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
    As long as all this continues to flow with this equation, soon they will reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
    I hope to see many reactions from you to TW my favorite band of all time.

      It would be awkward if someone came on stage for a rhythm guitar during a solo (though they do have a guest guitarist accompany them when drummer Paulina comes out from behind her kit to sing REVENANT). They each began on piano and are classically trained starting at around 5 years old. They have added piano and other tracks throughout their live history on stage. Those parts are important to each song and were recorded by them. And depending on the song and logistics, they play the keyboard parts live.

    *Ugh*
    *Ugh* is the 3rd song on the "Queen of the Murder Scene" (aka QOTMS) album released in 2018 when DPA/TW were an independent band... QOTMS is a concept album that tells a story from the first song to the last... hearing the album out of order makes it hard to follow the story... like reading a book's chapters out of order...
    two other original songs, *The One* and *The Sacrifice* , were spawned from *Ugh* ... *Ugh* was the working title because it was a hard one, they really had to work on it, and they actually wanted to shelve it... thankfully their father kept after them to complete it... they were like "ugh! do we have to?" and *Ugh* stuck as the official name, too... the result is great!
    this is one of their songs that you might want to think twice about playing when you are driving 😹
    Fun Fact: one of their songs has/had the working title of "Gracias"... "Gracias" is short for "Gracias, K-Pop" which is a salute from them to the K-Pop genre which has some influences on their sound and style... when they are playing, sometimes Ale will ask which song is up next and she'll get the answer "Gracias" which she knows that song by instead of its official song title...

    Appreciate your comments about the backing tracks. To me, the fact that a band can play this good and tight and have to be precise in matching their sound and any track is even more impressive than the " old school" approach. Nightwish uses a lot of backing tracks, symphony sounds, choir etc. I invite you to watch interviews with these girls talking about their gear, they know what they are talking about. Dani uses a ton of delay in her guitar work. To me you have to, to have this kind of sound in a 3 piece. Please don't react badly to people that come at you for comments. We are very passionate about this band and some go too far. We can come at this band from 2 different points of view about how they do what they do, but in the end we love them. With nightwish that's a bit different as it's orchestral and there's no other way. They do use backing tracks to add extra sounds but they are all created by them with one exception, the live version of Enter Sandman that Metallica had them do for the the Blacklist Album uses backround vocals of Alessia Cara on the track. She is on the Blacklist Album with them for the song and they always tell people she is part of the song. The Gibson Explorer was a gift from Lizzie Hale of Halestorm when they torured with them, Ale has been a featured artist for Spectre since she was 13 years old (she is 17 in this concert) and plays a five stirng base made especially for her by the company. As others have said, they do use backing tracks. In some shots of Pau, you can see a computer near her. She controls effects, background video, click track, backing track, and probably some other stuff from her computer. I'm not sure if she is setting the guitar effects boards, but she used to. She uses Ableton Live for the curious. Due to unfortunate experience where the computer fell off the stand, crashed to the ground, and the lid shut turning everything off, they never have anything vital on the computer. They can play without it. A lot of times you can see the computer shaking from drum vibrations or maybe Pau stomping on the kick drum or cymbal pedal. It’s part of the kit in concerts. That’s why they sound so good. It’s like an instrument. The band plays the track and implements it like a looper. I used to setup the back house for concerts in the 70’s. Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag.

I know bands play to clicks and that's cool, I just prefer the more natural element to playing when it comes to slight differences in time/groove (as ive played in many bands myself). It's in no way putting them down, it's just a personal preference of mine. I'd love this band with or without clicks or backing tracks. They are awesome and as long as they use them to their advantage and still play (which they do), then it's all good. "The sadness tastes like yesterday and time wont take the pain away". Incredible lyricists... poetry to music. They write great songs. So happy you caught Pau hitting the bell of the cymbal! Nuance! They do it so brilliantly. The atmospherics that add to the dissonance and darken the mood are on backing tracks. Sometimes you get Dany layered in on another track. How are you going to add some of those atmospheric sounds live with 3 people? Especially with Dany singing lead and switching between lead and rhythm? There are acoustic versions of several of their songs stripped down. They've had backing track systems fail while they're playing as well and you know what? They sound amazing regardless. You can find plenty of songs with just Dany or Pau singing solo with a piano or Dany with her guitar. What you will never find is them lip syncing. They have said they will NEVER do that and instead just walk out of the gig.

    The Warning do use tracks for extra bits, piano, guitar which they have recorded even their band managers spanish vocal piece on Dust to Dust. They are a three piece, they are young, they are from the modern world where this is a thing to more or lesser extent. They are just trying to bring everything to the live show. I have no issue with this personally. Maybe in the future they will use additional musicians, they have done this a little for social occasions just as guests.

    They use backing tracks, but very sparingly, like over solos. I think backing tracks are horrifying if it is a copy of what a person is supposed to be doing live. I do however appreciate them if they make the song complete. We want to hear what we know and if our favorite song has more than 3 parts then it is not possible with 3 people, and the show would suck.

      @@RealLifeCoupleReact I get that. I am a musician as well, playing since 81 and I had to be pulled kicking and screaming into the digital age. I've learned that the best thing you can do is to provide the best show. Otherwise you are skimping the supporters. As long as you ain't cheating!!

    Even without the keyboard shortcuts, there is no need to move the mouse to the play/pause button to pause/resume the video, you can click anywhere in the video.
    Regarding them using backing tracks for some rhythm guitar, I have no issue with it, considering that they do not have the means of hiring a session player and that all the instrumentation on the backing tracks are played by them anyway. I have no issue with them, as long as the band can still play live without them and it has happened in the past that Pau's laptop has crashed and they were able to play the show fine, just without a few background guitar, piano/keyboards and sound effects.

    “I’m hearing another guitar”. Yes they do play to tracks. Makes the 3-piece sound fuller. Hoping as they continue to blow up they can afford to bring some backing musicians with them and ditch the tracks.

    At most of their recent smaller US shows when they're headlining, they really did not use any guitar backing tracks,only some piano and effects tracks on select songs. At least that's what I'm hearing.

    Dany plays multiple layers in most of their songs, its impossible for her to play it all live and the leads would sound lost without the track... Viva The Warning!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

    Not sure if this is the case here. There use of backing tracks is minimal. In the last 2 or 3 years the computer died and no one new it. It happened at least 5 or 6 times only die hard fans knew. One of the times was opening for GnR they would not let them do a sound check the commuter would not work and they still killed it. Many say there is a guitar backing track, lately I have seen a few reactors get it right, Dany uses her pedal board to split her guitar into stereo with one side on a delay with a different tone so it sounds like 2 guitars playing

    • @RealLifeCoupleReact
      @RealLifeCoupleReact  Před 5 měsíci

      Yeah, this is kind of of a standard practise for a 3 piece band to give more of a chorus/stereo effect! I used to do the same thing myself with a wet/dry rig. All I was saying is that at the end there is clearly another guitar track playing a completely different thing and thats cool :-) there's no issue with that, I just personally dont prefer it! Orchestral parts are different etc just not the guitar. It's just my opinion, I still love them and think they are epic!

  • @spidernose
    @spidernose Před 5 měsíci +3

    That was a backing track you heard at the end. Also Ale plays her own signature Spector 5 string bass. Ale is so cool and unassuming to the untrained eye, but she just quietly kills it.

  • @R2robot

    Fun Fact: That Gibson Explorer was gifted to Dany live on stage by Lzzy Hale. Epic moment. Yeah, you're wandering into Snobbery territory with your backing track rant. Not a good look for a reactor unless you want to start pissing off fan bases. Pau uses Ableton Live to control click tracks, backing tracks, Dany's pedal board and to a certain extent the stage show. The backing tracks are pretty minimal. Sometimes it's a guitar, sometimes a keyboard and sometimes it's sound effects. Pretty understandable to want to fill some sound sometimes as a trio. But yeah, that kind of snobbery isn't going to go over very well.
