Brother, i watch most of the top youtube channels on gardening and i must say hands down you provide the most accurate, helpful and relevant info out there. I especially like how you debunk common myths. Props to you bud!🎉🎉🎉
ME TOO STEVE!!!
Varieties : Party Time, Beit Alpha, Early Prince are F1 - China Jade (heirloom).
I’ve set myself a reminder in November to start watching for party time seeds.
Same
I got on a wait list
You are quickly becoming may favorite go-to gardener.
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
You are the best CZcams veggie educator. I learn so
Much from your content.
I planted the partytime cucumber about 6 weeks ago and they are sooo productive and absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to order more once they are in stock again.
I love your videos! So much information, and your garden is amazing. You are such an inspiration.
I got Beit Alpha last year after hearing about from you, and planted it in spring, and it has been crazy. I’ve given away cukes to all my family, friends and neighbors. Just six plants have produced dozens of cucumbers. It’s still producing strong and I’ve made a succession planting that is just starting to flower. This has been my best cucumber crop ever. The idea of a better variety is mind boggling. Thanks for the info.
My party time cucumber plant is as tall as I am and I'm growing it in a container. It has tons of cucumbers on it!
So jellus in a good way
Exciting!!
It's fantastic! I knew when I read the description that it was going to be a top tier variety.
Is gmo ok?
Oh…that’s encouraging! What zone are you growing in?
Thanks for the info, I will look for them to try it, thanks love your videos 👍🏼💕
Awesome video Wil follow you forward . Always learning and do garden learning as a past farmer of family heritage
Been growing China Jade for a few years in hot and humid summers of Sugar Land, Texas (near Houston) for years. Very easy to grow and super productive in this climate.
Thanks for great info as usual! Looking forward to trying the Party Time cukes when they’re back in stock.
Thank you will order both!
Thanks! I've ordered the Early Prince
Thank you for this FANTASTIC information!!
You’re welcome!
Wow! Very impressive!
Fantastic information, thank you so much. 🎉
Awesome! Def will try these this Fall or next year.
I grew Lemon Cucumber this year, which were extremely prolific and flavorful, but with tons of seeds.
Thank you for sharing your valuable information. I have noticed the shortage of bees lately. My remedy has been Mason Bee houses. Also planning falll parsley and yarrow when they go to flower I have Mason Bees all over them. 😁
Good info, Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support and generosity! I appreciate it!! ❤️
Producing "an embarrassment of riches"!! 😂🥒 Plants look great! You will probably make this variety a viral sensation with this video!
Thank you for your discussion on varieties. My first 15 cukes were pickled yesterday. My first EVER successful harvest of more than 1 sickly yellow fruit... I've learned so much from you and your videos!🤗🌻🥒🌻🤗
OUTSTANDING! Never let a cucumber get yellow...or anywhere close to even thinking about turning yellow. The more you pick, the more you get! Pick early and often and you'll have more cucumbers than Vlasic!
@@TheMillennialGardener 3 qts. of pickles! Now I can start thinking about variety selection 🤗
can't wait to try these...how about your favorite summer squash and zucchini plants that are self pollinating and heat resistant. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Great info. Thanks for posting!👍😎
You’re welcome!
Great video. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
Thank you sir. I'm growing in Alaska but still use your tips and tricks GREAT JOB....
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
WOW ! I'm behind the gardening curve.
Thank you so much for all the great info!
You are welcome!
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great video. This great info. I have never heard and I have been a vegetable gardener for 16 years.
So helpful, thanks!
You're welcome!
Thanks! I'll be growing early prince and party time at next planting
Corinto is like party time but it’s 7 to 8 inch slicers. Corinto is the best and loves high tunnels
Thank you for the information.
You're welcome!
Wow! Party Time looks pretty cool😊👍 Thank you for sharing MG!! 😁
It's the best performer I've seen so far. The smaller you pick it, the better it is. It's really sweet.
Have you ever grown Salad Bush? It has a decent resistance to powdery mildew & produces multitudes of great, full sized cakes on a bush plant. I’ve been growing it for a couple of years now & have had great success here in Denver, CO.
I love "Marketmore". Heirloom. Smooth. Good pickles.
Enjoying the videos
I agree..started in July
Just found you and boy am I lucky! You are very knowledgeable! You make gardening so enjoyable! Keep up the good work and videos! Mike
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos.
Where in NJ did you live? I’m in Montclair…
I've grown party time last yr and this year. They do make great pickels ❤
Great videos.
Amazing video
Thank you! I appreciate it.
I’m rewatching some of your videos and getting ready for an awesome 2024!
I’m happy to hear that!!
Great info I haven't seen anywhere else!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Great video...thanks 😊
You’re welcome!
After going through my seeds, i bought these last year. About to start some today
Thank u
Great vid! If you can get access to an Australian heirloom variety called "Richmond Green Apple" it's a fantastic one to try too. Great flavour, unusual shape and the perfect size for snack/lunch boxes
I am growing suyo long which is documented as being parthenocarpic. I tried using organza bags to prevent pollination and try to get seedless cucumbers. I suspected it might not have been that easy and my experiment was a fail. Have you figured out how to do this yet? If so I would love to see a video on the process.
Keep up all the great video content!
All your fig tree progress inspired me and I now have five fig trees in two different varieties from cuttings on our own property! Thank you for that!
Great video!
Thank you!
Thanks for the info. Wow what an abundance of cucumber! I am jealous. Mine are sprouting. We had to wait a little later. We were having an unusual cool spring. And dry. Thanks again
It's been unusually cool here all May and June, too. Looks like we're finally in a normal weather pattern and temps and humidity are where they should be...unfortunately 😂
Hi from Clayton NC so very helpful info ty❤
Party time never heard of them. 😮❤❤Interesting.
I'm putting that Party Time in my list! I'm excited to look for it & buy d seeds ...
Awesome 😎
Thank you!
Do you plant in ground and add several inches of straw, or is it just in a hay bail? Love watching your videos! You rock!
I have been using a lot of Burpee products and never been disappointed. I’m happy to see they are carrying this new brand of Cucumbers. I will definitely be growing some
Thank You.
Their seeds are a bit expensive online, but I've been happy with many of the varieties. They have one of my favorite tomatoes and cucumbers.
@@TheMillennialGardener Thanks for the info. I will definitely be ordering some.
Thank you..
Watching from Malaysia 🇲🇾👍
Thanks for watching!
I put all three new varieties on my buy list. :)
They're really great!
Thank you so much, how do you prepare your soil6
Awesome
Thank you!
Video Request! :)
Would love to see you do a video with native leafcutter bees (super easy to do FYI) and see if they have any impact on your garden. Plus its a native bee that does great in our region and pollinates way better than honey bees, and if they do sting the mosquito bite is worse because of how small the stinger is.
...."an embarassment of riches..." lol. love it
My favorite kind 🥒
💘I always wondered why my cucumbers never developed. Thx!
I'm so excited to try these seeds, hopeful they deliver to Canada.
Glad the video was helpful!
great video
I got the beit alpha u said to get last year! Now I need these ones lol
Nice!😃 Hey Dale!🐕
Thanks! Dale says hello!
Waiting on my party time seeds from Burpee. Can't wait to have my refrigerator pickles back 😊
I had Party Time on my "to buy" for 2024, so it was great to hear your views. China Jade is also in my list. Thanks for the thorough input. Do you have any favorite seed suppliers?
thanks for sharing. I have the long jade cucumber I just start this year too. I can't wait to teast it
It’s superb!
I have grown it and I really love the long Japanese types, but Jade has poor disease resistance. The best one I've grown is Summer Dance.
I'm just starting to get into gardening this year. I got a couple Bonnie bush hybrid plants from either lowes or HDepot. I guess they're parthenocarpic because they've been producing fairly well and I don't see any bees. I only transplanted them into a 7 gal grow bag and I used that cheap potting soil. The potting soil doesn't hold moister at all so I'm watering every morning and had to water in the evening a couple times. I'm in Manvel Tx. and it's getting to the mid 90's here. Plants are doing good so far. I'm trying different cucumbers types and have some seedlings growing that will be up potted soon..
I'll have to give the Party Time variety a try next year. I went with one called Katrina F1 which is also parthenocarpic. It seemed to take a little while to develop any female flowers, but it's going pretty crazy now.
Good job fantastic 😃😃👍🙏
Thank you!
Here in Canada I found a parthenocarpic pickling variety called Corentine. Fingers crossed it works! 🤞
Which siol u use for vegetables plants
Help! I have bought mini me cucumber seeds (park seed)…then ordered party time when they became available again. Can I plant these two types close together or will it mess up because of growing two types near each other? Thank you. I love your channel…it’s my favorite!
Just pulled about 45 Marketmore and Boston Pickling this morning. South Central NC, Scotland Co. 💪❤️🔥🇺🇸
Thank you...one question, do you still purne/remove the scuckers on the party time variety? 🥒🥒
I do not prune cucumbers. The only time I'll touch the plants is if there are diseased leaves, which hasn't started yet. I believe the scent released when you prune cucurbits attracts pests, so I try and minimize pruning.
Party time and China jade is on my list for Spring of 2024, Never heard of it. Can't wait to try them!
I really like Chelsea prize English cucumber- parthenocarpic and all female flowers... the cucumber beetles dont seem to prefer them and they produce like none other - at this rate this year ill be supplying the grocery store with them 😂
On another note, have you been seeing squash lady beetles ? I noticed more than a few out here in NC.
Party time sold out but I just ordered China Jade and Beit Alpha. Thank you!
They’ll eventually restock. They’re new.
I’m also growing these cucumbers from baker creek seeds
Wow that's some crazy production would they be any good for pickling?
Yes. They are all fine for pickling.
Do you have end of season update on these cukes?
Soo I live in Charlotte-what do you use to control powdery mildew and blight?? Tomatoes and cukes are starting to succumb with all this rain….
Hey brother where do you find your hardwood mulch? I've checked the feed stores and building supply stores in my area and I can't find any. I like the idea of using hardwood natural mulch rather than the colored unnatural mulch.
I live in Jacksonville NC, what have you done to combat cucumber and zucchini borers? Thank you.
We really enjoy your videos. Do you sell the party time cucumbers seeds? Or have a suggested seed seller? Ha Ha, I should have waited to watch the whole video !!! Thanks for the info brother.
I do not sell seeds. I placed in the video exactly where you can get all of them.
Dude, you're amazing.
I'd say,, when I grow up, I want be like you, but I am probably tiwce your age. Lovely presentation. You talk like a prepared bulleted list of succinct points. I have checked out about dozen channels, and you just get right to it the best. 1,000 likes.
Lost my garden to a hurricane, and shocking new food prices are sending back to Mother Earth. Old school on most things, but this is gallaxies beyond talking seeds out of store-bought cuc's, and struggling.
And FWIW, the AI (Auto Pilot) says Party Time is parthenocarpic.
I see you have a bug light at your garden, do you find it useful for helping control some of the pests?
It is actually a vacuum. It catches a lot of moths and mosquitoes. It is a zero effort way of doing some of the work.
Thank you so much for this information. I’m in the uk and have just bought a pkt of party time cucumber seeds from eBay for £2.75 with free postage and packaging. The stamp on its own would be £1.25.
I always like/love your videos...Beit alpha here on your recommendation way back when...I have a request..Could you do a video on the most heat/disease resistant zucchini variety? I have a heck of a time with those! Thanks (8A AR)
I've had good luck with Costata Romanesco. I don't grow a lot of zucchini, so I only grow 1-2 plants at a time.
I have had good luck with Zypher summer squash here in zone 9A where it is hot and dry climate.
When to pluck the China jade...I have very similar one cucumber nymphs seeds from Thailand
Fellow North Carolinian gardener here! Any suggestions for large shade cloths?
Any tiny pickling cucumbers that you recommend?
I only planted Excelsior (pickling), Corinto (slicer), and Sashimi (long slicer) in my garden this year. They are all parthenocarpic & gynoecious. Didn't have to worry about cross pollination at all. Very good production.
Same here. I don't want to be wasting time on a bunch of male flowers lol. Add Burpees Sweet Success and Merlin to your list.
Trying to find the ones you listed, where did you get your seeds?
@@FC2ESWS Johnny’s Seeds
@@FC2ESWS Johnny's Seeds
I got both China Jade AND Beit Alpha at your recommendation! I hope they do okay here in central Texas. 😊
As long as you got far enough ahead of the heat, they should. I would recommend you get yourself 30-40% shade cloth to cover them. I see it's 101 in Canyon Lake this week. I have very inexpensive shade cloth linked in my Amazon Storefront in the video description under Garden Accessories if you need some. I have several tarps in my shed just in case.
@@TheMillennialGardener Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, other than a couple of lemon cucumber vines that are already about 7 feet tall, the rest are just coming out of the seed trays today…the China Jade sprouted last week and the Beit Alpha, just yesterday.. I have tons of shade cloth, though it may be a bit much for most parts of the country, I do use it here (70 something %), and it has been the only salvation for a couple of tomato plants into fall production, over the last couple of years. Of yeah…the monsoon season has likely given way to the (all-of-a-sudden) hellish heat of Texas summer! Happy gardening to you and Dale!💞
I'm growing party time and Merlin this year! They have sooo many little cucumbers right now! So excited! Great to hear your success.
I'm trying Merlin too since party time was unavailable. It's the first time I have been successful in growing more than one cucumber.
