Leon has been 2:06 supposedly unshaved and tired in the 200 breast, so I think he’s got at shot at winning it. It’s definitely gonna be a tight race between those 3, and if Matt Fallon drops again he too could be in contention for a medal. Probably the race I’m most excited for it’s gonna be very competitive and will likely take a wr to win.
50free: it will take the perfect swim but i will say it will be broken (heats or semis) 100free: definitely will fall 200free: popovici wins with a 1:42 but the record will not be broken. 400free: some contenders to that world record. Might be broken 800: no. /1500free: don't think it will be broken. 100back: might be broken. 200back: no. 100breast: no. 200breast: will be broken. 100fly: In my opinion it's a very dificult record to beat. From what we have seen i only see neo ponti or kristof milak doing it. Might be broken. 200fly: No change. Milak is the only one that can do it and i don't think he will be in the necessary form to do it. 200im: Might be broken. Marchand going to need THE PERFECT RACE to do it. 400im: Might be broken. Cielo broke this WR in 2009, and no one has ever since been within 0.13sec of this time, which is a super long stretch for 50m. Adding to this the adrelinaline of the games, which differently from other events makes swimmers more conservative, will slow down times ever more. This record will only fall when a sprinter like Cielo or Dressel shows up. We have to wait for that.
