There isn't one size that all 6 yr olds play, but her instrument is definitely too big for her. I'm guessing her teacher opted to have her go up a size or two for the sake of tone; it's not uncommon for prodigious kids to be playing instruments a size or two larger than what they should be. Small violins can only provide so much in terms of tone, and once you reach a certain level, you're gonna need a larger size if you're young.

    • @lizzie7654

Has she played with her friends enough? are other developmental activities being sacrificed to make this achievement? What I like about Brett and Eddie is that they judge different performers at the level they should be.
    - If a guy claims to try to get a world record on a golden electric violin for Bumblebee and is missing half the notes, they'll tear into him
    - If America's/Britain's Got Talent heavily value shallow and flashy instrument playing than actually quality instrument playing, they'll tear into them
    - If a 6-year old is playing Paganini and is not always in tune and is a bit inconsistent, they'll be like, "Yeah it's not perfect but she's SIX".
So they intentionally change their standards based on how the people playing present themselves, which is valuable.

I don't know if you guys realize how many people you have motivated to achieve more on their instrument,or people like me to pick up an instrument. You don't give yourself enough credit! I admire you guys 👏💙

There is no point commenting on her ability, listening to her is the only way to understand how brilliant she is.
The expressions on the faces of the orchestra members are wonderful. They're all clearly in awe of her, some look like they're bursting with pride as if she's a family member, others look like they're going to cry. Some are probably wondering if they should retire 😂
I do hope that she genuinely has 100% passion for this and hasn't been pushed into it (this applies to all child prodigies of any and all subjects). That, sadly, is an all too common thing with ambitious parents, and later on teachers, when a little one shows the slightest bit of competence and interest in whichever subject they find that they turn out to have a knack for.
