3EON-FM (EON-FM) 92.3 Changeover to 3MMM 105.1 - 1988 recording

this old audio recording I did of 3EON 92.3 changing to 3MMM 105.1. 21 November 1988. I took the left hand channel for 92.3 & the right hand channel for 105.1. 105.1 has tone & then silence until the Dr Dan theme begins, then the audio becomes proper stereo sound (even though audio is from two separate tuners). This was locally recorded in Melbourne. The audio has been dubbed to a video track to make it look genuine :) Best to listen on a good stereo setup for the best effect.

I used to live in Melbourne...EON FM was the best rock station in Australia...album tracks from the popular to the obscure and everything in between plus great interviews and real DJ's like Lee Simon who were actually interested in the music and didn't talk too much and then.........it all went down hill and commercial...happy memories

i was listening to 92.3 on that day and had a tape recording of the 92.3 signal and transition from EON to MMM, it's good 30+ years later to finally hear the 105.1 side. Thanks for sharing.

I think I have about twenty quintillion (is that even a word) recordings of the 92.3 to 105.1 loop tape. I was very keen back in those days.

I remember that day so very well. One of the 3MMM secretaries seriously told me over the phone that she actually expected to have more desk space due to the higher frequency!!! LOL.

You should fix the phase issues and match the volume of the two stations for the best listening experience.
