    New Technique! Low-Temperature Enamel on Polymer Clay. Making Hollow Cabochons. Inspired by Donna Kato.

    Dear friends! Today I want to show you a new technique using low-temperature enamel on polymer clay. Low-temperature enamel is a very interesting material, unlike almost none of the usual materials: powders, gels or other additives for polymer clay!
    Low-Temperature Enamel - Где купить/ Where to BUY!
    1. Plastilinkin.ru - www.plastilink...
    - About shipping: www.plastilink...
    - Here you can ask them about shipping and payment: / plastilinkin
    2. kupi-fimo.ru - kupi-fimo.ru/n...
    - About shipping: kupi-fimo.ru/o...
    - Here you can ask them about shipping and payment: shop@kupi-fimo.ru
    3. Here too Efcolor Enamels (thanks to Dixie Ann Scott! ) www.cooksongold...
    For work I will use such materials and tools:
    1. Premo or Kato polymer clay, black color;
    2. Low-temperature enamel of red and white color (or any other color);
    3. Liquid Clear polymer clay by Sculpey (or Fimo);
    4. Liquid, but more thick, Polymer Clay by Sculpey;
    5. Cutters of any shape, of two sizes, !!metal!!;
    6. Any textured sheets with a deep imprint;
    7. Texture of the mesh (material for packing gifts or flowers);
    8. Acrylic rolling pin;
    9. Paste machine;
    10. Blade for polymer clay;
    11. Wide brush;
    12. Brush for liquid clay;
    13. Wide transparent adhesive tape;
    14. Wet wipes;
    15. Glass 10x10 cm or ceramic tiles.
    Low-temperature enamel can be used on metal products, as well as on polymer clay. It is intended to create jewelry pieces and decorating objects. This Enamel is a small free-flowing powder.
    Enamel of different colors does not mix with each other. So, if you mix a few shades of enamel and bake the workpiece, then if you look closer, it will be seen that the surface will be covered with small colored particles, dots.
    These particles of colors do not mix with each other and do not interact at all, but only melt on the surface. As a result, after baking, you will get a colored surface in dots.
    Bake enamel may be at a temperature of 125-140 C "
    And I wish to all of you an amazing inspiration and success!

    Watching you manipulate clay so skillfully is a treat! Thank you for your generous approach to sharing in the clay community. I've struggled with how to cleanly apply low-temp enamel and you have wonderful ideas! Which brand of low-temp enamel are you using? I have EF Color, however, mine are very small in size.

    • @timothybarry1345
      @timothybarry1345 Před 7 lety +2

      Ooops, this is Heather Moore on my husband's computer. ;-) I have a suggestion. Because you are using liquid clay to capture the enamel, so it will stick, you could go ahead and make the cabachons, cure them, then apply the liquid clay, enamels and clean it only one time without reducing the depth of your pattern. My enamels only require 15 minutes and so does most liquid clay, so you would only have to cure it again for about 20 minutes.

      Are these enamels originally for fingernails? I'm not into fancy fingernail detail that's why I ask because I'm not familiar with enamel.

    Ludmila, if you have a minute, I have also seen your other video about embossing powders, and I have a question about the difference between low-temperature enamels (like Efcolor), cool enamels (Iced enamels), and just regular embossing powder on clay. Besides the fact that they are all heat fixed a little differently, what is the difference between the end results and look (and strength/ longevity, etc.) on the finished piece? Are they all *basically* the same? Or are there some major differences? Thank you SO much for your help. You work is absolutely beautiful and inspiring!!!

    Why don't you do what I do, and use the tape with enamel design on it on another piece of rolled out clay burnish allowing the enamel to transfer to the polymer and then you have used the remaining enamel and have another lovely design. Hope you find it works for you also.. Lovely video and jewelry. You have a wonderful artistic sense.

      На металический полый катер положить слой раскатанной глины. Углубить ее стеком или пальчиком. Сверху положить плитку или стекло. Надавить или прижать чтобы ненужная глина отпала. Прямо с катером выпекать. Чем меньше катер, тем меньше будет заротовка. Ольга
