Gidday from down under in New Zealand. Fiona and I (Mark) are the very lucky owners of Hull 1 of the N51. Looks like it will not be ready until mid spring 2023. We will pick “Awanui NZ” up from Istanbul and either head into the Mediterranean or up the Danube - decision to be made once we know a final date. We would be more than happy to host you on board Hull No 1 of this exciting new vessel. Long term our plan is to bring her home to NZ via Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Panama and then the mighty Pacific….hopefully we will start a CZcams Channel featuring a retiring couple living their dream. Cheers Mark and Fiona
Gidday! 🇳🇿 wow, it’s great to ‘e-meet’ you 🙌 thanks for the offer of hosting me on board - I would absolutely love to! Your itinerary sounds amazing! When you get a moment, please feel free to send me an email: john@yacht-buoy.com
Congrats on your dream come true! I would go crazy just for waiting for the yacht to be constructed. I think Istanbul will be a nice place to start a looong journey.
It will be great to follow along your journey through your CZcams channel since it is my dream too.
Mark and Fiona congrats!
I'm excited for your future voyage, be safe always!
I'm sure John is ecstatic to that exciting invitation! 👍🙏💟☮️
@@YachtBuoy
WOW! Great and exciting invitation for you Mate!
I'll be looking forward for this journey🙏💟☮️
She looks great, can’t wait to join you both on her……
She's a beauty ..nordhavn is my preferred yacht by far...63 is my all time fav..but the 51 is very close now....Happy reviewing buddy...😊
🙌
A Nordhavn is just a dream for me. I like them all.
Wasn't a fan of wing engines so this is very nice
Interesting pocket yacht. I.M.O. the 63 is my ideal yacht. Big enough to go anywhere but small enough for two to handle 🍻
Love the N41 with twins and no electronics on the motors! They kept it simple and avoided all the problems that the ridiculous amount of unreliable sensors create when as they constantly malfunction causing constant trips to the yard. Mercruiser is the WORST by far. Love that they got back to basics and hope they do the same with the N51. Anyone can work on them and not much to go wrong.
One would hope that they carry on with the same “keep it simple ethos” as with the N 41.
Nordhavn yachts are built to withstand some serious sea conditions , I always feel 100% safe whenever I am onboard one! Another reason for buying one of these fabulous yachts must be the brilliant sea keeping of these lovely explorer yachts!
I think that the double beds in the cabins should pivot on the plane or articulate in a way that they become single beds, so they would sleep two guests not necessarily just a couple! I think it's a good alternative for trawlers, especially for bow cabins!
Well, My wife and I are good friends of the owner, and we don't mind sharing. (The bed in the guest cabin does split, as far as I know). Let us know when you decide to cruise around Italia!
Thanks for the virtual tour, I've been wanting to see this
Thanks for watching 🙌
Beautiful boat :) It looks like a mini Super Yacht, which I guess it is :)
wow ... this is a well designed and beautiful yacht for only 51 feet ...
I like Nordhaven, they build sturdy boats and I think that's pretty well known in the industry. I can't figure out why though, they chose to put the Master Cabin right at the bow like that and then have the guest cabin at midship? Seems a tad backwards to me but I think if she were my boat I'd be sleeping in the guest cabin! Good choice of engines those John Deere lumps, I think they are the same block and head assembly that Lugger use on their motors too, so parts should be plentiful and inexpensive (as far as yachts go) but I like the overall design and of course with Nordhaven's reputation they should have no problems in shifting as many number of hulls as consumers want to pay for. Nice one - John!
Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌 thanks for watching 👍
Ditto. More room and more comfort.
Both cabins are about the same size, so the master cabin can be what you like more.
Yes, I believe Lugger starts by buying the engines from John Deere then goes about dismantling them and then re-building using their own marinisation components.
Good looking yacht. No doubt it will be seaworthy. It is unfortunate Nordvaven have not seen fit to design a worthwhile swim platform on their smaller yachts. You can bet that if I were to take such a boat to my chosen destination I would spend hours every day in and out of the water for scuba, snorkeling, and swimming.
What boats have a swim platform that you like for example? You mean a better ladder or what? Thanks.
I was hoping you would cover this trawler, It's my dream boat! I love that it has twin engines, and a 3000 mile range, that's unusual for a boat this size.
Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌 thanks for watching 👍
I am looking forward to seeing the final product. The 41 sure looks slick. I am not the biggest fan of the walnut look but i would make due.
got to be the N64 for me! purely on the no of berths and room and range, pilot house tucked up away so as to not disturb the helmsman :) its a beauty :)
Nordhavn listened when customers demanded twin main engines.
love it!
I wonder what range it will have? A thing I do think should be standard is a water maker,if you are exploring you want enough water to get by its an essential as it were.
I love anything Nordavn , iv been a fan for years , I’m hoping to sell up in the uk and buy one
Damn man. You have a lot coming up- can’t wait to see that Bering- I’m assuming
does the top pivot? could this boat do the great loop?
👍👍👍 Grt Belgie
Very nice , but like some others here , I would love to see the owners cabin in the center of the boat and not up in the bow. Twin engines are good but would like to see the options list to see if more fuel can be added to extend the range (whatever that is at the moment). My favorite is either the 55 or 60 Nordhaven with the extra bedroom behind the wheelhouse. Good luck to Mark and Fiona with their NEW 51, I hope you have a long and happy tour of this planet of ours.
I believe both staterooms could be designated “owners cabin” as they have similar specs. Also, it has a 1,500 gallon fuel capacity that should get you around 3,000nm at 8 knots.
This beautifully designed and built trawler yacht is pretty much perfect for my needs. Adding a water maker is the only option I would consider. It must come with accommodations for a washer/dryer plus an extra freezer as the 41 does.
Stunning fantasy
Great little ship. This is my favourite Nordhavn . Unfortunately it would end up tied up at the RCYC (World’s Oldest) , or Kinsale, used as a floating apartment. Thank you for the video.
😂 thanks for watching 👍
I LIKE THE 51/I HAVE SEEN THE 43/57/AND THE 63/64/.... I LIKE THE 51 BEING IL BE BY MY SELF AT THIS TIME GOOD JOB
I'm wondering about the location of a day head closer to the pilot House. I definitely don't want to be running up and down stairways of more and then a few steps. Also as with the previous comment I questioned the use of the bow as the master cabin. I would have liked to see the headspace and more about the engine room and what's included if it's a cookie cutter boat. Are there bow and stern thrusters, a sea well as opposed to strainers, water maker capacity, ect. I think a 51 is really a perfect size for two people to take anywhere and not especially a captained boat. More information about an engine room and it's ease of use for monitoring and accessing moving parts, storage of parts, seems more pertinent to me as someone looking for a live aboard.
Hi from Mexico, I like the new one N71
Hi 🙌 thanks for watching 🇲🇽
Love this trawler yacht. I’m wondering if goes much beyond 1.5 million?
20k + Congratulations
Many many thanks :-)
Well done review but will like to see the performance specs. Personnaly I like the Nordhavn 60 , it has a head in the rasied bridge.
Thanks for being a channel member :-) I really appreciate it
Really nice looking boat. Love all Nordhavn, but want to see how the 41 and this 51 do crossing a major ocean. If money was no object the 60 or 62/63 would be on the top of my list. Two questions, cost and cruising range? I am a subscriber and think you do a good job on all your video’s.
Thanks! :-)
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
🙌
I love the new look.. would like it at 59 ft to add space to the rear cockpit with a bigger swim platform. And please, none of the ikea looking paneling inside...it cheapens the whole yacht. Just my opinion !
nice job
🙌
Just a beauty ! And with this size, you don't need any crew I suppose?
That’s correct 🙌 she is primed for a cruising coupe and, for those confident enough, maybe some single handed cruising as well
Il est vraiment magnifique 🥰
J'aime beaucoup car la marque garde son esprit d'origine tout en le modernisant dans les couleurs et les matériaux.
Reste à voir le tarif......😏
Sans doute très élevé 🙄
Im a huge fan of Nordhavn! 😂
😂🙌
Wow. Sure it looks like a Bayliner with some elements of Nordhavn but with much lower priced interior so it can compete with lower cost boats. Just what Nordhavn needed, an introductory low cost offering for first time boaters instead of the high cost high quality that their reputation was built on. They should make this low budget look for all their sizes and go to all the indoor boat shows and ring up sales. But is it better than a Bayliner?
Awesome! For some reason I haven’t been getting your videos lately hmm 🧐
Have you turned the notifications bell on? it's the only way of ensuring that you never miss any of my vids
@@YachtBuoy Yes, I got it working correctly again.
@@YachtBuoy Suppose Ma, didn’t call me Special for nothing haha
@@YachtBuoy Just wanted to let you know, Far Far Away had a 💶2.5m price drop today. Thought it interesting, I think there’s too much “affordable” explorer competition these days.
What I would really like to see as a Prius owner is an engine that can use electric and convert back to regular fuel. One really isn't I like the Prius is that it's not exclusively a plug-in it converts fueled and momentum energy to electric that can be used intermittently by the engine. As a person brought up in the V8 generation only the Prius could have turned me into a compact driver. The engine has so much more Superior acceleration and handling. Also the thought that the exclusively electric engine is somehow more low carbon is somewhat ridiculous to me since we are still burning coal to make electric. Also it seems much more feasible on a boat to use wave action and wind to generate energy then just try and strap on enough solar panels to do the same. My daughter is driving my 2005 Prius it still gets 47 miles to the gallon, my 2018 gets 57. I would love to see someone like Nordhavn embrace this technology and move into this century with it.
Antalya? Could be a bering. Maybe the 145?
Negative - not Bering….it will be the first time this explorer has appeared on CZcams
What will be the price of the NH 51?
I’m guessing the price will be 50 percent higher than the 41.
Is this a wide body?
The Nordhavn is a great trawler yacht but personally I am more of a Bering fan.
Bering 55 is my dream boat.
Wet exhaust?
If only I saved my BAQ, and VHA ships.. great job.. nice indepth...
Thanks 🙌 I appreciate it 👍
Master should be midship. Bow is too busy and noisy from bow slap.
No performance data??????
Did I miss the speed/range numbers?
Negative - there’s no info on Nordhavn’s website re her speed and range but then that’s probably because hull number one is yet to complete her sea trials 🌊
...After all, there are people who are not married or travel alone.
...still, the double cabins are too big, mme seems to be a "standard" a bit exaggerated in size, because after all it's a boat, not a house with a king size bed...! As much as the boat's stabilization system works, there is a force that can unbalance and people may not support themselves!😆
i want a single main motor and a get home engine?
Personally I would eliminate the upper helm and put in a mini station instead
Is this a metal ship?
Negative
Beautiful. But alas, too rich for us.
if only bering was build boat of this size it will be amazing!!
It did, a 55'. One for sale in Curocao.
@@michaelcollins5734 yeah i saw its a old boat! want to see a 50 with new bering design and technology
For the close to $2M you're paying for this, it seems a lot smaller than a 51 should feel. The fuel capacity and living spaces are particularly low in volume. The exterior design looks great, but I feel like the interior modernization looks like a production Azimut. The two engines are a plus, but I feel it needs to be said that the interior design and space for company is lacking.
The 51’ doesn’t have enough fuel on board for long crossings.
IMO would never buy a boat out of turkey, nothing but a lot of little problems, the Taiwan yachts are far better made.
