    **writing this before watching full video**. well that was easy. got "a" from the f(-9)=f(3) a=2/3. then i just got the parabola vertex Y formula which is D/4a and since k

      I'm not sure I've ever heard of the vertex y formula, but if it worked, it works for me!

      There is such a formula. But I think he is missing a negative sign. You can derive it by plugging x = -b/2a (the vertex) into the standard form. It is hardly ever used because you would do the same thing to find k. Plug back -b/2a into the equation.

      I think you have the inequality symbol backwards.

      @@SetteleTutoring as i learn from khan academy if both the sign cut out in (inequalities) question the sign change. That's the reason i had done like that.
