The gearing is so long so i just ride on the tourqe instead of changing gear all the time 😃

Loved my f82 manual. Adds so much more character to the package then the dct.
110% agree! There are only 12 manual M4 here in sweden and this is the only one in San marino blue that its manual and would never trade it. Maybe the CS would be the only option

Judging by the wing and akra exhaust it's got Nurburgring mode So that would be good to test out!!
Misha thought it wasn't stock, but at the time of publishing this video (let alone recording which would have been earlier), Golf 8 R tunes weren't on the market yet (i know this because i own one). This car was probably stock, it just has great acceleration and of course the DSG. Remember these cars are capable of 7:50 - 7:40ish BTG. I personally would love to let Misha drive my 8 R but it has warranty until 2026, so no track mods.

pro for long gear: you can stay in 3rd or 4th gear and dont have to shift much and the bmw still gives you the power you need to accelerate (except for slower parts of the track)

BRO, the way you maintained the correct amount of throttle pressure on your exit and then smoothly carried the rpms into the next shift while holding the car's positioning in the right angle.. ahhh man… 5:18 to 5:23 #masterful
Must be quite satisfying being so used to a track that even if you're dazzled by the sun you can still follow the ideal line thanks partly to muscular memory and feeling the bumps. Not like I've done it in my local roads when the situation needed it... didn't I? =P

Misha, what is a more fun track car in your experience: F82 or G82? Regardless of what car is more capable or not, what’s more enjoyable in your opinion?
can you explain why 2.3/2.4 bar on track? I don't understand, isn't that tire a semi-slick for the road? I heard that you should run 1.9/2.0 when cold, because the optimum pressure is 2.2bar/32psi hot or am I wrong or missing something? nice car and nice video as always 🔥
You will not see a CT4 V Blackwing in Europe? It’s a beast. The CT5 V Blackwing has so much power you have to have skills in the same level or higher to explore its potential. I am a amateur and had so much fun at the Cadillac Academy Spring Mountan resort in Pahrump, NV.

So a mate of mine sent me this because he randomly spotted me - I was in the Lotus you passed at around 9:13. I distinctly remember this moment out of many days spent at the Nordshleife because the rear wheels got huge air over the bump straight afterwards under braking - that's why old mate reacts in the car.. haha!

Never noticed how much rev-hang the S55 really has, the competition/DCT models really hide that, but in the manual it's really obvious.
I also have an f82 manual, I suspect that the rev matching is getting in the way as the only way to turn it off is to put in in Sport+ throttle.
Just a rule of thumb.. Manual vs dsg you need +50hp more too keep up. Golf R was stock just more efficient drive.
This model m4 is my favorite. The new one is just horrendus.

Ah, stock shox and shorter/ stiffer spring. ... I would expect that the rebound is too fast.
I' m excited to see what my dokker is going to feel like with a lowered body and stock shox.
Is the track better in winter with cold air but cold surface, or summer with warm track but hot air? I've always found my BMWs to be happier on a cold day; especially the N52.
Cold is always better for the engine
So the nice lowered look and the better handling, better than the stock soft handling, is only due to H&R lowering springs??
3rd gear doing like 160kmh most normal cars can't even hit 160kmh in 5th gear lol that thing is amazing... Everytime I watch one of these I re evaluate cars I want to drive

I was just in the market for a manual m4 and you post this 😭 I got my challenger pay off pulled up and trying to see how to get rid of it only has 4600 miles already over it and it’s stick too m cars are just better .
If you go on track time to time the F8x platform is outstandning with simple mods ❤

He liked it more because the throttle response its longer. Look at the video before we go on track 😃

I have heard that cup 2 are very sensible below 2 bar. So rather high than low
@@twbigfoothd269 never had problems in coder condition herr in Switzerland. Even with below 2 bar for a short time. And on the track their getting hot enough to reach 2.5+.

If I remember hey uses Alpinestars. I myself use Sparco but just find a racing shoe that fits your foot style.

Pretty sure he said efficient right before the start of the lap, everything else was sport setting

looked fun! he should keep in mind that you driving is 2.8. He did mention he isnt as fast, so probably will go down to 2.6 ish. Still too high ofc, but not AS crazy
Yeah after the lap i drove with 2.6 in the back and 2.4 in the front for the rest of the week ☺️. You could learn soooo much from these guys ☺️❤️
Anyone else notice the noise from the clutch? It's particularly noticeable at about 7:00. Sounds like the car needs a clutch release bearing.
I looked at the clip and for me its fine. Work at BMW and will have my mecanic look at it ☺️. But i think its normal 😃

I have a question and thought maybe people here would answer because it's track driving related and can't find anything online, and they did talk about it in this video.
Is there any inconvenients of running higher temp capable brake fluid ? I'm gonna do a brake upgrade some day on my e36 and the price difference between rbf660 and rbf700 (what this guy used on this m4, which is why I thought of asking) is barely anything, so I thought I'd get the higher temp resistant one, but the fact they're almost the same price with a big difference between the temp made me wonder of why is the 660 still even a thing if the 700 is that much better so I wonder if there's also other differences and potentially inconvenients.
Here in sweden its very cold but the RBF700 is amazing even if its cold or hot. Just go with the 700 and change it every year 😃

@@imnota you feel the differnce so much! Had the normal BMW fluid on one trackday and had a very scary moment were the pedal just dropped and my seats almost turned brown 😆. But even if you go with 660 or 700 its suuuuch and upgrade 😃

Ive always wondered about M3/M4 with manuals, i always feel theres rev hang.
I think most modern manuals have rev hang due to emissions control strategies.
The car rev matches on upshift which can give the impression of rev hang. All of that goes away if you put it in “Sport Plus”
