For my final meal in Baroda, I chose to ravish a Kathiyawadi Thali at this beautiful restaurant called Shree Kathiyawadi Khadki. It offered a whole bunch of new flavors, curries and desserts made with unique ingredients - as unique as Maggi Farsan and Tagdke vali dahi.

Kunal sir, you should visit Kathiyawad once to have the traditional Kathiyawadi thali as once you get in other cities is modified as per the taste palate of the region but you should definitely come to Rajkot and then explore around to have the Kathiyawadi delicacies that you would never have elsewhere. Sukhdi is a sweet made from Ghee, whole wheat flour and jaggery. Its considered the favorite sweet of Ghantakarn Maharaj - The warrior God of Jainism. If you have visited a Jain family's house you must have noticed a photo or an image of a God with a bow and arrow where the tip of the arrow faces the main door of the house. The ears of this God is full of bells. hence the name Ghanta Karn.
If you are in Gujrat do visit Ghantakarn Temple in Mahudi, near Mehsana. A warning though - its believed that the sukhdi Prasad from this temple MUST BE eaten and finished within the temple premises. not even a grain of this prasad should leave the temple. People who did so faced quite some tragedies and some even after driving for hours found themselves right back at the temple gates !! this prasad is made inside the temple itself and you can buy just a little so that you can eat some and the rest distribute among other devotees. This temple also serves lunch which is very delicious.
