Trying to ressurect a saab 900i that has sat for years.

‪@LivingMyBoostLife‬ do you know what is happening? the car has not run in years, last week we were pondering on it and found the pump was shot so fitted a new pump, this week the pump was not getting any voltage when the key was switched to kp2 which I was thinking it should have done in order to prime the system, is it even meant to prime? like I say in the video I connected the fly lead to the obd port to see if there were any codes and the pump primes in kp2. The car seems to run ok now.

Fuel pump runs for a second when key turned - fuel pump relay under the drivers side dash on a bracket up on right - Only time mine had problems in this area the fuel pump had packed up. Relay isn't one that tends to go. There is a Bentley book on these cars which covers absolutely everything and you may find it handy

whats puzzling me is that the pump primed with the fly lead connected to the obd port and not when it was not connected. I guess if the car starts next time I go to it with no intervention its fixed but its frustrating not knowing how it is working now and was not before. Thanks for the reply.

@@mikestinyshedofdreams Theres not much within the OBD to tell you anything useful, and it's only useful for telling you what ABS sensor has failed, and that's about it!

@@mikestinyshedofdreams I have been through nearly every issue there is with these cars so please post more queries, and ignore the OBD port as it really won't help much. Whats the age of the car?

@@ChishanFipz thankyou I will make video on any further problems I encounter and @ you in the description. The car is a 1991 I think. It has a Clifford Alarms Falcon 2 alarm installed.

I'm not familiar with the earlier Saab management setups, even my '87 900 runs the later Trionic stuff, and with those the fuel pump primes off the key every few attempts with just ignition but always as soon as you start cranking. If it starts every time i wouldn't be concerned 😄
