Dolomites Val Mezdí off piste spring skiing in plenty of powder snow

- Was this maybe the end of season present? We don't know but skiing the Dolomites Val Mezdí off piste in spring with this type of powder snow conditions was just a blast.
We went up starting from Colfosco - Alta Badia, did the Val Mezdí upwards until reaching the Boé hut and then skied down this amazing off-piste. The Val Mezdí split's almost in two parts the Sella Massif and starts from the top plateau of it and ends in the town of Colfosco in Alta Badia.
This winter has been already so good with us with all that snow, but this time it was simply perfect, super cold temperatures, fresh powder, not to little and not too much (what usually was during the huge snow storms in winter).

I have wanted to ski Val Mezdí for forty years. Sadly I will never be good enough to attempt it and fortunately I am wise enough to know my limitations. Now with your wonderful video I have at least experienced my ambition. Thank you so much.
If you get half way good conditions it's not that bad, in fact in spring it's like skiing on packed snow there due at the many crowds skiing it. Probably next time I'll do it again is during a lockdown ... as there is again almost noone around 😂👍
I learnt to ski in Colfosco and have often looked up into Val Mezdí and wondered what it was like. Seeing it in your great video was just fabulous. a group of us now stay in Colfosco - I think 2024 will be our 27th year at the same Pensione. Thank you for your great videos.@@UstariaPosta

Steve, I just think we got the perfect spring day.
- 3 days old powder (in order to let it settle)
- perfect blue sky
- damn cold temperatures
And of course we had some sun as during winter time the Val Mezdí barely get's it.
I think the cold removed all the moisture from the air, creating an incredibly clear view. Beautiful indeed.

I have been following your channel and I think this is the best video footage of Val di Mezdi that I have found. Of course it was shot during the corona pandemic, so no one can expect to get the same experience normally, but it shows where downhill skiing originates, that was probably what every downhill skier experienced a century ago. I enjoy your channel a lot and hope to visit you in the future.
Oh yes, I completely agree - this is my favorite video too! Everything just aligned perfectly: a winter rich in snow and surprisingly, no tourists around 😂. Want to know something cool? On that very day, we skied down Val Mezdí twice. The first run was for filming this video. When we reached the bottom, we asked ourselves, 'Will we ever get another chance to ski in such perfect conditions?' Realizing the answer was a resounding 'No,' we didn’t hesitate to go for a second run. This time, it was just for us, no cameras, just pure skiing joy. It was absolutely amazing!!!

It's for sure hard to get good conditions in Val Mezdí because many people ride it down. So it all depends when you get there.
Too much snow is also not good because except the first and last part it's not really steep. So this time we just got the most perfect conditions ever 😉👍

Genau den gleichen Weg abwärts im Mittagstal, durfte ich auch des öfteren befahren. Leider nie so einmalige Bedingungen. Üblicherweise ist der Einstieg und Ausgang ordentlich verbuckelt.
