We have really enjoyed Moving Beyond the Page. It has been a great addition to our homeschool.
I hadn't heard of Truth Quest until you mentioned it in another video. I looked it up, and I really want to try it with my oldest! I've already selected her fourth grade curriculum for the coming year, but I'm planning on using it for her fifth grade year.
We really enjoyed Moving beyond the page this year. My son has autism and he loved loved loved it. We did Poppy between the fall and winter holidays it took twice as long as recommended but my son learned with it and it was adaptable for his needs. Loved that
Oh that's so great to know! Thanks for sharing.
I am enjoying your channel and content. I appreciate this video as well as the curriculum you wouldn't use. It would be really helpful to me to see a video of of the secular curriculum you would recommend or not. I know you aren't a secular homeschool yourself but with your evaluation experience it would be nice to know which secular resources you have noticed academic success or otherwise with.
We use a lot of those! We are loving MFW ECC this year, explode the code is great, and I used LLATL with my son (who has learning delays) and really liked it. I agree that you would need to supplement the writing. Apologia is amazing and we will probably use it year and after year. Excited for Human Body next year! đ
Thatâs awesome!
LLATL is exactly what I wanted to hear about !! We want that for my kiddo with Autism !! Thank you for sharing
Yeah!!
You have really been piquing my interest for Truth Quest. It sounds very interesting.
Truthquest works wonderful with the AO elementary history books such as CHOW and Our Island Story, etc:)
Thank you
Shabbat Shalom isha
I love Apologia so much. We use them for science and math. đ I only wish they had a language arts for my rising 4th grader đ
Apologia is the best!! We love it!
We are using Apologia Land Animals and a lapbook with it. We have loved it đ€©
Awesome!!
Your hair looks really nice!
thanks!
Llatl is what I hope to use with my daughter too. She has T21 and I think is would be perfect.
I purchased truth quest and also Apologia science because of your recommendation . Iâm so excited! We are using My Fathers World as a core this year. I am so glad you mentioned it; I was a little concerned it wouldnât be challenging enough.
What ages are you using My Father's World for? I am considering it.
@@jennymontvitt1076 We are using it for Kindergarten and In considering using it through elementary, depending on how it goes.
Let me know hod it goes!!!
@@LivingWithEve I will. Thank you!
We love explode the code also! For writing, have you looked into or tried EIW? I keep flip flopping between iew and EIW. Weâre familiar with iewâs theme based lessons, but wondering about trying EIW. Thanks :)
Explode the code is a mainstay with my son.
Truth Quest did not work for us, I felt like we never moved forward, it was too hard for me to manage and progress. It's really just a book list. Mystery of History is way better, it's a great spine and gives you books to add in. Truth Quest has also not updated in years and many books are hard to get. I mostly use Sonlight and it's great!!
Hi! What is your favorite kindergarten/first grade writing curriculum?
We used PAL from IEW. I loved it.
I have a four year old with downs syndrome and I used flash cards with her the first few years and it really helped and of course she loved it. But she fights me on writing. What would you recommend to encourage writing?
Okay so we used tg&tb for language arts & math, sonlight for social studies, Abeka for science, & handwriting with tears. We did also some of time4learning, teach your child how to read in 100 easy lessons and also a spring reading program. My daughter is still not reading even with everything we have done. What do you suggest??
We bought Sonlight curriculum for 1st grade coming up but I need to know what to do to help her now.
Idk how old your daughter is, but I can tell you that I tried Teach your child to Read in 100 lessons, Abeka, ABC Mouse, and more, but my kids were simply not ready to read until after they turned 7 years old. I wish I hadnât pushed so hard. Once they were ready, they just picked it right up. đ€·đ»ââïž
What is your opinion on LifePac from Alpha and Omega publishing I am thinking of using their studies for our curriculum once he starts schooling but don't know much about it. We are a Christian family which is why we want to use it but don't know if it will be enough.
I am not familiar with that particular curriculum but I know Alpha Omega is pretty solid.
Thoughts on Apologia math? Or your favorite math
My favorite Math has been Teaching Textbooks and Horizons. I have not tried Apologia.
I wonder what you would think of Horizon ( by alpha omega publishing) Phonics & Math they are excellent IMO.
I do like Horizons Math. We used that for two years before Teaching Textbooks. It is very good and a great transition to many curriculums out there.
Where does Apologia have lists of books that correlate to that subject? I like apologia, but would love to include some other books on whatever topic we are studying.

Can you talk about spectrum? Have you seen any families who have used it and had any success? Iâm based in Florida and trying to find a curriculum that works with B.E.S.T standards.
We are studying the Life of Moses . Do you have any suggestions to study this 1-5 grade?
See I would just use the Bible. Sorry if that is not much help.
Have you ever used/looked in to "Science in the...." Elementary Curriculum written by Dr. Jay Wile. I just came across it and looking for good reviews.
I have not, mainly because I have loved Apologia so much. But I have heard from others that they love it.
@@LivingWithEve Thank you!
How does Lightning Lit compare to LA through Literature?
I am sorry I have not heard of Lightning lit. đ
So you when the physics exploring creation new release will be. ?
Can you write again. Sorry, I donât understand.
Sorry I was asking if you know when Apologia will release the updated version of Chemistry and Physics for the young explorers series.
Oh! I donât but it might be a while since that one is fairly new anyway and they are currently redoing the zoology.
How old is she?
I have a 13, 11, 9 and 6 year old.
@@LivingWithEve How old are you?
