It's not the bassist she's just speaking to him. Listen closely, the synthesizer is playing in the wrong key and out of sync. Analog synthesizers can lead to these sort of issues.
I've seen them live and they were absolutely great. Seriously, like flawless. This must have been a really bad day for some reason.
