Good video. I do lawns as a side job. I'm in Australia and since 2011 I've had 2 BG 56's and since upgraded to the 86. My first 56 had the same filter as your 56 but the second one and my 86 both have cylinder filters. Also both the 56 and 86 are both available here with or without the spring assisted starter and both fit flat or round nozzles. I have both nozzles but use the flat one 99% of the time. It's better for driveways or footpaths. I find the round nozzle is only better for blowing piles of leaves when on the lawn. I love the anti vibration on the 86 (the reason I got it). My first 56 lasted 7 years of near daily use and my 2nd one is still going after 4 years. Handed it down to my dad to replace his old school corded blower and extension lead haha

I've got the 50 as I only need to blow off the back deck and the front porch. Our driveway is gravel and has grass growing in it so if I rev it up to blow the cut grass out of it, it starts throwing the gravel too, lol. I mulch my leaves with my riding mower in the fall so I don't really use it for leaves either except to blow them off the deck and porch.

Thanks for the comparison. This is exactly what I was looking for. I don't have a big yard but i get a lot, and i mean A LOT of leaves throughout the fall season. In terms of just performance as it will be ran a lot, which of these three would be recommended. As a side note I will probably get the bg 50 as it will be the most affordable for me, but i would still appreciate any recommendation before I buy one.

If you're a competent operator, you'll probably be okay with the BG50. But if you're someone that gets confused about how to choke, turn-off, or that kind of thing, you should probably go for the BG56.

I've owned all three, and my favorite was the BG 50. I know what the specs are, but it blew as well or better than the other two, and the light weight was the icing on the cake. It was a touch louder; the muffler was different than the others, probably a little cheaper, but it was a good machine.

Absolutely nothing genius about the air intake being on the right side. What would be genius is if you could use it on both sides without it sucking into your clothes. As of April 2023, the Homelite has a blower at Home Depot for $149 that has 150 mph, 400 CFM, and weighs 9.6 lbs. The Stihl BG50 for $129 has 159 mph, 412 CFM, and weighs 7.9 lbs. They seem pretty comparable specs to me and the Stihl is actually cheaper. Perhaps there are other features on the Homelite that are better, but it's not 1/3 the price of the Stihl.

I do decorative concrete overlays and there can be zero dirt or anything really on the surface or there will be bond failure- so I blow it off before any application and I have used the BG series exclusively for 20 years- the BG 55 and now bg50.. they never give me any issues at all- and I use each one for about an hr a day the throw that fucker in the van at beer 30, and I mean when we our, that fucker gets tossed with zero facts.. and I’ll buy one per crew and maybe replace it.. no lie like maybe 4 years- never had a cord break on me and never had one completely die on me- thing is the Glock of blowers!
Def get one, you won’t be disappointed!
    Thx for the post bud!!

This is aimed at the people who Remove the spark arrestors from their machines in warmer climates - just a perspective you may not have considered .
👉 the bits of carbon buildup that sometimes come out of the two stroke exhausts along with spark … carry the spark , like the starter /fire making -char-cloth ,
Where as , the heat from the spark from mower blades striking metal against stone Cool’s much faster ‘’ And is FAR LESS likely to carry enough heat under normal conditions to trigger a fire . You don’t know what you don’t know -until you have been informed 🤷 . Until that point , you are only making assumptions based on WHAT YOU THINK IS true = incomplete knowledge 👣🦘
