      @@andydporter5136 I notice on Google that quieten is a British verb. It’s an extremely obscure word here in America. That explains my confusion. I am not British. Nonetheless isn’t it easier just to say quiet down? The added “en” makes the word very awkward to say out loud. Now that I’ve said the word several times it’s starting to sound like one of those drugs we see advertised on television...”Take QUIETEN twice a day for fast relief from tinnitus.”

    The Abbey Road Sessions make this purchase for me an absolute great buy. I don't agree with your final assessment. These 2 records are not meant to be an alternate to the finished product. They are an insight into the Beatles creative process. As such for me this is a great success. After hearing these two records I had to go out and buy the White Album Esher Tapes. By comparison I enjoyed the Abbey Road Session discs infinitely more than the Esher tapes. The final two instrumental tracks on side 4 were very poignant. The Beatles are gone, forever, and we are left with just the music. I loved the insertion of Her Majesty in the middle of the "Long one". It's a dramatic and effective break, and then back to the Rock of the medley.

The dark wind moog sound abruptly ending after blowing the clouds away and bam! Her Comes the Sun. Would never make that trade but fun to finally hear for sure
    Some of these tracks were from the anthologies which was a little disappointing for me personally, but still amazing.

    Paul’s vocals on OH DARLING... with them doing take after take, it made sense for Paul to just give 50% instead of 110% which we got in the Final take that was used on the album. Studio time for the Beatles was incubation time for every song. As you well know, many times in the early years, the songs recorded had been played hundreds of times in clubs all over the UK, Germany, etc. they were finished songs. These newer songs were simply created once they got to the studios with a bare-bones idea of the song.

    just a small correction. Paul didn't make the song for Badfinger, but rather it was a song that Paul rejected for Abby Road and then later gave to Badfinger as Paul felt guilty about how the band wasn't charting very well at the time. Fortunately the Badfinger version of the song was a hit when it released.

      OK... then how do YOU explain the crash of this song??

    • @kamikazepinocchio
      @kamikazepinocchio Před 4 lety

      @@TheProgrammerGuy I'm gonna say it's because he skipped a couple of lines getting ready to head into the chorus and the rest of the band was continuing where they should have been so they had to stop.

    I haven't heard the vinyl version, but unfortunately, I thought the CD version was horribly bad.
    Pepper was fantastic, Whitey was all over the place, but Abbey Road, which is my favourite Beatles album, is where Giles Martin REALLY messed up.
    Yeah, bring it, kids! I can defend my opinion!

      How did Giles mess up? Just saying he did is no reason, so explain... 😉

    Have you heard about the Beatles single collection? (It is going to release at november 22th)

      I'm a big Beatles fan but I don't think I'll buy the singles collection. I have all those songs on the Beatles Masters records that came with the boxed set. On the other hand, are the singles collection in Mono or Stereo? My box set is the stereo version and I wish I could have afforded the Mono version.

    I hate these compilations made from studio out-takes. There's a reason the final versions on the official releases are there-the artists chose them as the best possible versions. Track order to me is also sacrosanct. When you've heard a certain track order on a classic album for decades, it really messes with your head to mix up the order. The Beatles were perfectionists, thank God. I wish Apple would leave this stuff in the vault.

    "Her Majesty was put on the finished album by mistake". You actually believe them when they say that?! A major label album by the biggest band in the world doesn't end up with unwanted tracks on it!! There's a lot of BS in the official Beatle Story.

    I really don’t think demos are worthy of a vinyl pressing, a waste of materials really. Cd and digital download sure, but personally I just Listen on CZcams.

    I got to disagree with you on here comes the sun, i think this is one of those Beatles songs that people listen just cause its popular and don’t pay attention to the genius of George Harrison. I think this remix version is more raw and for that is better for me.
