Of course this last question in the clip about the Reserve Bank really drummed into the opposition why it was important to have the organisation (the RBA) aside from political interference.
Keating got it. He set the genesis in place and it is totally accepted 30 odd years later.
History is and will be very kind to him for what he did for Australia's economic position since.

42:42 'One Nation' was a capital works upgrading programme for the interstate rail network with it's centerpiece being the growth of the National Rail Corporation. Nothing to do with the duplication of the Hume Highway or anything like that like the Goulburn bypass that was almost completed by this date. Funding for the Pacific Highway would have to wait until December 1995 when a deal was struck with the Goss Government despite having only 100km of this road existing on the Queensland side of the border.
