Kronoberg slott / Kronoberg castle / THOR , the 17th century boat

Kronoberg Castle is a castle ruin in Växjö Municipality, Kronoberg County (Sweden). It is located on an islet in Lake Helgasjön about five kilometers north of the center of Växjö in Småland. The castle is a typical Vasaborg with large round corner towers and has several features in common with Kalmar and Vadstena castles.
Throughout history, the building has belonged to bishops in Växjö, Nils Dacke, and the royal power during the Vasa era and the first half of the 17th century.
The castle has also given its name to the county of Kronoberg.
