back in the old days we used carbon tetrachloride to dissolve sprue, however in the 1970's it fall into dis-favour being highly carcinogenic
AHAHAH , Really that's interesting yeah I'm not quite sure about this 😅 I just don't try inhale but the glue itself is fairly potent.

I got angry last night and botched a Twin Shoota barrel drill on a Morkanaut so I furiously cut the piece in two and threw it to the floor thinking it was non essential (not used for Goranaut etc) but I was wrong. I looked on ebay and bitz shops and looked at availability and prices for a replacement and it was no good. So I searched the floor for the two peces, found them, got my Tamiya extra thin cement and not only reconnected the two pieces but I fixed the barrel drll with a tiny chunk of sprue plastic. Now the twin shoota looks almost as good as new. I learnt a new skill last night and a valuable lesson. The gun barrel was one of those where u have to get it dead center for the drill and right size (the barrel has holes at the sides etc but I fixed it all despite having drilled in at a wonky position.
That's good to hear man, that sort of thing happens and can really annoying and frustrating especially when we don't get extras on these kits but yeah glue and sprue Goo can do some magic I've found and saves needed to mess around with putty that takes ages to cure etc. Thanks for the comment and was good to hear you fixed a issue that could of otherwise been fkd
Deffo using this tip mate. At the moment l just use glue on its own. Takes many applications at times. Great tip.

Does the sprue goo last a long time in the pot? Or does it go off after a few days/weeks? Just wondering if it’s worth making a big batch of the stuff or not.
I've had mine ages probably months and it's fine , I'd say it lasts forever really. I'd say make as much as a Tamiya Bottle can hold. How much was you thinking of making ?
