I could hear the music playing as I climbed the hill from school
The fallen leaves would crunch beneath my feet
the smell of wood smoke, rising from that old brick kitchen hearth would cause my steps to hurry to the beat
the katydids and crickets and the bullfrogs on the pond

And I couldn't keep from singing as I bounded through the door

As I stopped to peak at what was simmering on the stove

Daddy played guitar on winter evenings by the fire
And Mom would call us kids around to sing the sweet sweet songs of Zion

My how we made that big'ol' farmhouse ring
It seems as I remember we just sang our lives away
We learnt the Word of God to Gospel tunes
We took in strangers, fed the poor and loved our neighborhood
and looked for Jesus, morning, night and noon
Now looking back I see that my home was like a giant loom
On which our work and play and rest were strung
And the shadow of love that we shared was tossed between the hours
The silver threads; the songs we all had sung
the memories, the experiences, the laughter and the pain are blended tightly in the lovely weave
And holding us securely is the song of Jesus' Love
And this will be the Tapestry I leave
This makes me hungry for home. I've lived 312 seasons in this life... and one day that will end. I'll go home and live with my Jesus forever.
My Uncle can read from the King James Bible, I asked him one day how are you able to understand what it's saying, My grandpa on my mother's side was a preacher, my Mother and my uncle lost their Dad when they were young, my uncle explain to me after his dad passed away, He told me he kept praying for understanding reading from the Bible, he also told me how he had learned a lot from hearing the Gospel songs. The man at the first of the video, that was so beautiful thank you so much, all the praise and Glory to God.
As beautiful as this song is, now in the year 2020, I am having precious memories of when people could gather this close together, especially in worship of the Lord Jesus Christ, without treating each other not simply as if they have the virus but that they are the virus. 🦠😷🦠
The peace in this song means only one thing to the heart, and that's "PEACE".
When we where young in mkushi filled with nothing but blessed hearts yearning to know more on God's ways, I remember vividly how numbers didn't hold water then. But a sheer certain determination on God's glory, these where precious innocent memories that this song brings to the heart and soul.

One of my most precious memories is when I was approximately four to five years old, I went to go spend the night with my Nanny Ann Beers and my great Grandpa L.R.Beers, my Nanny was a short women we was getting into their car, and I looked over at my Nanny she had a huge Book on here drivers side seat with other big books going from large at the bottom to smaller at the top. Still big enough book at the top for her to set on, as a child I thought well that's strange, I looked over and asked my Nanny why she sat on the books, she told me so she could set up and see over the steering wheel, then I asked her what books it was she was setting over, she said son they're King James Bibles. Love this song. I know My Nanny is in Heaven. She lived and breathed by God's Word, Jesus Christ. When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. My grandpa passed away this Easter, a man of God and lived only to help others and ask nothing in return. You are dearly missed but I know you are in a better place now. I love papa and will see you again someday.
My grandmother died of bladder cancer in the very hospital I worked in, Literally across the hall. This was the only song that kept her heartrate calm when she was in and out of septic shock before she finally slipt so far under it was too late. God Bless you all! She went home years ago, but it still brings tears!
I understand Ma"aM my Mother had Bladder cancer also..I watch my mother go into that dark sleep you mentioned..One minute i was talking to her she turned her face up like mumbling saying God I;m ready to come home..Had her hands folded in prayer..Nurse told they call it the Deep sleep with no return...That really hurt watching her go that way..But .she was at peace...

Does everyone know that Jim Hill sang back up for Elvis? He wrote the song "What a Day That Will Be". And after the death of Elvis, Jim needed to make a living so he became a shoe salesman. He sold shoes to my aunt who owned a shoe store in New Castle, In. Jim lived near Dayton, Oh. He passed away about a year ago. He was a gentle giant and one of the kindest gentleman I've ever met.
