That New Edition tribute was EVERYTHING!! I nearly blew a hole in my esophagus trying to sing along. From the kids, to the New Edition cast to the original members, they all did really well!!!
I was definitely touched seeing Michelle Obama (my first lady). I so miss them!!

I love Bruno Mars. He is a classic blend of old school R&B/soul/funk and he has amazing showmanship!!!! Great music comes from great music. There are no new chords under the sun, so I am not sure why anyone would hate on him. It is not hurting him though. His shows are sold out and the two that he is doing in NC in Sept and Oct have hardly any seats left. In fact, he has floor seats as high as $1500. So, cheers to Bruno. I am very happy for him and will continue to invest in his music.

The New Edition performance with the kid and adult cast was SO BEAUTIFUL. I was re-watching today, like damn black people are amazing. From the kids to the adults, it was flawless despite all the technical issues with mics and sound.

Bruno Mars is an ultimate entertainer; his live performance reminds me of the old school groups back in the day. And, you are right he gives credit to the black artists that have influenced him and he knows that it was black people that started a lot of these music genres. Kandi and Xscape need to get a vocal coach for a tune up because they were not in sync. I agreed, I used to love me some Maxwell but he's surviving on fumes now...not interested, next. NEW EDITION, Yassssssss chile!!!!!!

Btw, you're absolutely right. Kandi has always been the weakest link vocally in the group. Her voice harmonizes well but she's always sounded off when she's leading. And I think there's a lot to the notion that they broke up because LaTosha was being asked to lead more of the songs mainly because she just sounds better vocally.

Now, Rox...go back and look at the last performances that Tamar did at the BET Awards and look at this one. It's clear that she sang to a pre-recorded track, at least at the end, when she was doing all that hair and neck shit and her voice never broke or had a shake or anything. It sounded just like a track. Hell, even when Beyoncé do all that head movement and dancing, you can hear her voice change too.

Ok. To each his/her own. The oh oh oh oh oh sounded like a mix of live & track (probably to add more richness to sound?) but nevertheless, everything else was live. You can hear/see from the vid backstage she was at full voice, why lip sync for her first solo BET performance? That wouldn't make sense. Vince would not let her be out there like that, wife or not. That's his reputation as Record Exec on the line.

I think the issue with Bruno mars is even though he shows appreciation he never really shows up for us I could be wrong but this is the first real black awards show I've seen him perform on. The fact that your eager to perform our music at Super Bowl halftimes, the Grammys, Billboard awards and all those other awards shows but not make time (until now) for the bet/soul train awards show is probably why some black people cant accept the appreciation
