i honestly feel like the more you shingle and find what works the quicker you get ! it used to take me full days to style and now i can style within 45 to an hour

It took me a minute to actually figure out how, but now I only shingle the top and front of my hair. I rake and smooth everything else. Shingling only gives me less webbing at the ends, it doesn’t decrease my frizz. Doing my whole head was 2 hours for just the wash n go. Whereas now it’s only 1.5 for the whole wash day + wash n go. That I can live with.
I think shingling takes me anywhere from about 45mins-an hour but my hair isn’t as dense, it just has some length 😂 I definitely think the more you do it the faster you get. Your results are fire!! I love it 😍😍
When I used to shingle my hair, I’d twist each “shingle” around my finger to encourage clumping, reduce frizz, and prevent straight pieces! I haven’t tried it since growing out my hair, and now I’m curious!

@caramel coils. When shingling add a lil bit of slicking grease (Dax) to stop frizz. You dont need much at all just a lil bit....(and I mean a lil bit) to Coat the strands. Thanks for video.
Hair is beautiful! It takes me about an hour and a half to shingle my whole head, but that"s because you get faster with time. This is just your second time and you're being very methodical and careful. The more you do it, the faster it gets.

Wow, the shingling method takes away all of your frizz and makes every strand on your head pop and curl. It's definitely a fantastic method for you, but I feel you. Is it worth it if it takes 1 million hours 🤔? Especially when the raking method produces beautiful results too in way less time. Ahhhhhh!!!! Decisions decisions!!!! I wish I could find a product that can get rid of all my frizz and defines my curls!!! So far, the only thing that does is my shampoo 🤣🤣🤣. Once I put in a rinse out or deep conditioner on my hair, it's all downhill from there with frizz and definition.

If you can go like 2 weeks, then maybe this method is worth it!!!!! I've tried sooooo many rinse and deep conditioners. And once the rinse out ruins what the shampoo fix, the leave in and styler can't fix it. My hair is too dense to "glue" the frizz back together at that point 😭. I wish I could just go from shampoo to leave in, but my hair would be dry af. Ugh! I need to go see my stylist for advice. I have a beautiful curl pattern like you!

My wash and gos: With shampoo,deep conditioning, styling (the whole 9): 45mins-1hr [Just styling takes about 15-20mins] Blow drying is an additional 15-30mins. I don't understand why people say they need the whole day just to do it.

i use the Dicky W&G Shake Method & my hair clumps and curls every time. Its quick but the PRODUCT used is key

I typically use the raking/smoothing method and then just shingle any curls/coils that may need some more definition takes about 20 min
Shingling is not for me, way too long and I end up with more single strand knots when it's time to shampoo
