  • Buying a sim card at Rome Airport is easy and convenient, but expect to pay double the price compared to Italy tourist sim card deals in the city center. In the video I show you everything you need to know and where to go and I will also give you my recommendation for Italy sim cards at Rome Airport.
    For more detailed info check out my extensive article about buying a sim card at Rome Airport: www.traveltomt...
    If you are smart and want to save money then you buy your Italy prepaid sim card in the city center of Rome in an official phone store of TIM, Vodafone, Wind Tre or Iliad. Check out my complete guide for buying a prepaid sim card for Italy in 2024: www.traveltomt...
    Heads up: at Rome Airport you can not buy an e-sim card, but only physical prepaid sim cards for tourists. If you want an e-sim card for traveling to Italy, then check out my complete guide: www.traveltomt... including everything you need to know before ordering an e-sim card for Italy in 2024.
    If you have any more questions please leave me a comment and I will help you out. Giving me a like and leaving me a comment is very much appreciated, thank you so much.
    Even if it is just for my effort showing you the best prepaid sim card for tourists at Rome Airport.
    Massive thanks and enjoy your trip to Rome!

    Thanks for the explanation! I didn't buy a sim card in airport because most of the telco booths closed in arrival hall after 7pm. I bought iliad sim card in Roma Termini instead and it was cheaper (€20) than what you got in airport but with more data (150Gb)!

    Sounds like it's best for international travelers to activate roaming for first day for a fixed fee (or included depending on country of origin) and then get a local in the city center.

    • @TravelTomTom
      @TravelTomTom  Před rokem +1

      Yep that could be an option. But there is free wifi in the airport that works pretty good. So no need to activate roaming yet

      @@TravelTomTom In some airports wifi is behind a complex login portal process. I was at Zurich Airport where to sign up I needed a code that could only reliable obtain using a boarding pass, phone or text message for some reason did not work for me. To get that I had to find a boarding pass scanner or info desk. Nevertheless most airports in the US and Europe have a chill easy join process.

    Thanks for making this video. I have read most of the information on your website as well. It is very helpful. We are leaving for Rome tonight from Toronto. I will see if we should buy SIM card at the airport of Rome City Center. It should have been even better if you have provided information on stores near Roma termini.
