If the Leafs get the Domi we see in the playoffs it may become a win for the player and the team. 3.25 annually would have made more sense! If the Leafs can get Bert signed for 5.5 over 3 or 4 years would be acceptable - 5 mil. would be better. Once again, if the Leafs get the Bert that showed up in the playoffs. Leafs MUST improve as the season progresses! No more slow starts, no more embarrassing performances! Character MUST be on display every single night!

I'm puzzled this is good signing then follows up with liligren at 3mil aav for a 6-7 pairing dman it makes zero sense. Unless its for the purpose of a trade. Why does Treliving keep signing bottom pairing or 4th line players to these contracts when they haven't proven anything.
These are the players that make a difference in the playoffs. The stars get them to the playoffs but the bottom ranked players can win series in the playoffs when the checking gets tight.

Bertuzzi was worth too much, so the leafs couldn't afford to keep him with the cap. Otherwise I think they would've resigned both of them
Best abiut Max is that he is not in his dad’s leaf shadow. He wanted to leave his own history. And he has done that.
