The deliberate knock down rule is silly imo, the Reece one he was making a tackle, but the thing that kills me is if a player reaches for and gathers or regathers the ball it’s a fair intercept but if he doesn’t it’s a yellow card for a deliberate knock down, yellow cards should not be decided on how good your hands are

I don't get the argument. He's either in a position to make a play and succeeds, or he wasn't in a position and he fails, causing a deliberate knock down. It's pretty straightforward. It's like a high tackle. You either had your technique right and made a good stop, or you were too high/out of position/too lazy to get it right and caused a penalty. There's room for interpretation sure, but the players know the rules, and the penalties are there to discourage them from making lazy attempts. The Reece one was probably marginal, I agree, but the rule is solid.

That was not a deliberate knock down by Sevu Reece. IMO it has to be clear and obvious. He was just trying to make a tackle.
No it was a stupid reflex attempt to stop the ball reaching the potential try scorer.

Mimeniia his arms were in a wrapping position for the tackle, not sure what he’s supposed to do, if his arms are down he gets called for a shoulder charge
@@joshf-w9602 Slow it down and you'll see that Reece goes for the offense as soon as the pass is made. Now that is either a stupid defensive strategy ( tackle someone who clearly is passing the ball ) or a deliberate foul ( his head clearly follows the trajectory of the ball ).
He clearly had his hand out to stop/intercept the ball, and only brings it in for the tackle after

Neutral party here - both cards were rubbish - yellow at most for the elbow, and the 2nd wasnt deliberate, he was making a tackle. Referees need to understand the game better.

Not really the best Crusaders performance I've seen, but a win's a win.
Really? They left 5 of their best players at home and were down two men at one stage and still managed to give these guys are hiding.
What did you expect? The Crusaders played without Moody, Taylor, S Barrett, Mo'unga, Goodhue and Havili. They have quite a few players who are in their first Super Rugby season, including 4 twenty-year-olds (one of them on debut today).
I was just expecting the Crusaders to win by more than 100.
We are talking the most successful professional franchise in the world vs one of the most unsuccessful franchises in the world. Crusaders could beat most international teams with their current performance.
