He was the best linebacker in college football and now he might just be the best in the NFL. Roquan is a straight up beast and I couldn't be more proud and happy that he's a Chicago Bear. Bill George, Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary, Brian Urlacher, and Roquan Smith. His name fits quite well with those others.

Smith is a more athletic and has better football instincts and better covering abilities.
Reuben Foster is a better traditional inside LB, he better stacking and shedding blocks at the point of attack has better size. And possibly tab more physical though jury is still out on that.
I think Reuben Foster and Roquan Smith are two very different LB's. Smith to me is better playing WILL, while Foster is your prototypical Mike LB.
They're both dawgs though. Bring their own juice to the defense, fires their boys up and both are QB's of the defense.

Georgia LB Roquan Smith is the best overall linebacker I've seen in the last few years. He can do everything you ask from a linebacker. He can make tackles in open space, rush the QB, cover downfield, etc. He's currently, being viewed as a top 10 lock, but could go earlier. Where do you think Roquan Smith gets drafted?

You know what my favorite play of his is? It's @ 3:05. I love how he stays home and does not bite on the reverse. He maintained his gap integrity and stayed home. It might not be the most "Flashy" or "Exciting" play he made but him maintaining discipline in one of the most crucial moments of a big game tells me he someone special.
If my Raiders do end up selecting him I will he pleased to know exactly what I am getting in Roquan Smith aka the next Derrick Brooks.

Born April 8, 1997. Played high school football for the Macon County Bulldogs (GA). Played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. Drafted #8 overall by the Chicago Bears (or Da Bears). First LB taken in the 2018 draft. First game is August 2 vs. the Baltimore Ravens in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, OH. IMO, he is a shoe-in for the NCAA Football HOF, along with both the State of Georgia & Georgia Bulldog Athletic HOF. And with hard work & dedication, a spot in Canton one day.

Only issue with this man will be him being able to handle blocks. He struggled with it in college, so he needs to go somewhere where he's paired with a bruiser. If he goes to the right spot man, this guy is gonna be a studdddddd

I know the ravens need offensive playmakers desperately but I feel this is the guy that can make that defense even better, they have trouble covering fast tight ends and running backs that come out of the backfield, Roquan is exceptional in that area, but I know it probably won’t go to Baltimore 🤞🏼

Darren Johnson 1:09 and 1:31 those were fast athletes he was covering there and he was stride for stride with them, he has a knack for the football and he has very fluid hips

O line is important. Nothing gets done without them. Or get a corner and let Carr go so we get cheaper and younger. What do u think about picking up Derwin Jamed if hes there? Best player available and play him in oyr sub packages like we use Levine Sr. That would be something
Darren Johnson I definitely agree with you, o-line would make me very happy, Derwin James is an instant upgrade, and if there is a great corner there I would be happy if we get him too, we need offensive playmakers desperately tho so hopefully we choose somewhere in that area

As far as pure MLB he's the best by far his play recognition is off the charts his range sideline to sideline is as good as they come he's a sound tackler & knows when to go for the big hits he's extremely intelligent only thing hindering him is his size that's the main question can he deal with the big boys up front on the nfl level

The irony of this comment
He's so instinctive and has outstanding range for a middle linebacker however I worry that he lacks the size to fulfill the most basic expectation of the position which is to plug the run and finish plays between the offensive tackles. The other things are just window dressing, ultimately you have to be good at holding up against the inside run and there are a lot of videos circulating that show him getting blown way off the ball. If he can't improve in that area then he becomes just another above-average outside linebacker with plus athleticism but the Bears already have that guy in Leonard Floyd.
